@@vital0208 In the UK, we have a new age plate every six months which shows the age of the car. So in 2015 for example, we have a number plate which might read YY15JKK - this means it was new in 2015 between March and September. In September 2015, the new plate would be YY65JKK, and this car would fetch a slight premium over the 15 plate as it could be up to 6 months newer. Volkswagen's transformation of Skoda, from poor also ran to competitive mainstream car maker, must surely be one of the biggest success stories of the motor industry.... Today's Skoda cars now stand comparison with any other brand at a similar price. And one thing you always see in Skoda road tests, is how good they are to drive...... The new Fabia I bought in 2001, had little touches I'd never seen in any car previously, like the little clip on the driver's windscreen pillar, to hold a parking permit, or the little sliding storage drawers under front seats, the little hooks in the boot for carrier bags, the little pockets on the side of the front seats, just big enough to take a mobile phone etc...... I personally feel the build quality of new Skodas now exceeds VW's...... it's almost as if Skoda were trying to prove something 😁😁

I don't understand why people get so excited by older vehicles with such low mileage. Extremely low mileage usually means a lot of cold starts and stop-and-start driving. What a shambles of a garage no motor warranty would cover that if it’s never been done , keep up your sterling work

Having worked in the motor industry many years, that sort of red is one of the worst for ultraviolet damage. Even on clear lacquer over base colours, designed to keep its shine. Sunlight bleaches some of the various tone pigments that make up the red shade. In time, the deep colour starts to look milky, and often needs paint to restore, as you can't get to cut back the top colour layer under the clear lacquer.

Well done for restoring this car!! The difference between before and after is staggering!
When I bought my Toyota it had 22 year old tyres on it. I kept losing it on roundabouts/ slick roads. I thought to myself it may have been normal but when I consulted people on the owners club, they said nah there's something going on, check the date code on the tyres. So I did, code was 1401. It slid everywhere. I could do one wheel peel burnouts for miles on end. How myself or my crown survived, I will never know. Got new Uniroyals on it and it is glued to the road. Old tyres are super dangerous, I hope people realise this.
That business card (13:05) was indeed in Polish and it was for butcher. Cheers from Gdańsk, Poland :)

Ah thank you!
Brilliant result and video
This is really cool. Going through the same thing with my late grandad’s 2014 Fabia 1.2TSI Elegance DSG, only 9900 miles! Washing off all the moss was so satisfying. It drives and feels brand new!
£10k for this is very high but I’m sure someone will take it off you. Great video my mate found a 5000 mile 54 plate golf and only paid £300 for it done what you done and drives it now. Great video yet again

Maybe, I think it's going to struggle.
Hi Matt more great work on a car that I reckon most garages wouldn’t do and I’m agree 8k plus is still a great buy
A brilliant episode really good 👍👍
What a brilliant time-warp find! Nice job!
The first garage job is something that could be done in the driveway. Even the belt and pump is not particularly difficult on this one. Anyway....well done...hope it goes to a good home
That’s mad. I don’t like leaving my car parked up for more than a few days without using it!
Great video Matt! Reminds me of a cheap 52 plate Honda HRV I bought some eight years back. I needed a cheap runabout and a local garage had the HRV in for £800, granted not been stood as long as the Golf but had been in their yard for eight months, owner said take it as it is. Covered in green moss around the window trims, interior all musty and filthy body work. Cleaned it up ,gave it a service , four new tyres and flew through it's MOT. Started off with 80k on the clock and I ran it up to 153k over three years. Apart from standard services it was totally reliable. Also being a 1.6 petrol was pretty economical. Keep up the good work.
Great video and a reality interesting example. Cheers
It'll be interesting to hear how much you do get for this one. My view is that some collectors will be disappointed that you've put a lot of new bits on the car as they will be looking for complete originality.

What new bits? He’s just replaced the original bits with original new condition bits surely?

Haha really?

I disagree. There’s hardly any new bits anyway and just making it look like a new car, particularly with that low mileage, is the way to go. The new tyres and wheel trims are really good and show off the car.

A collector will want this. There is a niche of collecting for bog standard cars. Some display the most basic next to the top of the line of the same model for contrast. Also the bog standard ones are the worst survivors. Most become cheap runarounds or learner cars which gives them quite high attrition while the more desirable specs are cherished. Try finding a diesel or non-GTI mk2 Golf, you can’t, they’re all gone. Also sadly, with estate sales there is always a leech around who begs cars like these off the family when they are grieving. They have no interest i preserving it like you have. People wonder why cars disappear off the road. It’s because they don’t get the treatment that you have given it at this stage of its life. Well done. Best of luck with the sale.

I would also like to know too! Matt, could you not claim the VAT back?
Looks like brand new, however I do think you're a bit mad with the current price
Fantastic videos keep making them!
Hi Matt another great video. I really like your sunglasses what model are they? Cheers!
I'm most shocked that plastic wheel trims cost over £300
