Yes, a lot of alcohol is involved, but the family outings are so exciting to watch and partake in….Just love it. Plus not once did I feel left out or a desire to drink….very proud of myself! ❤ Thank you Jae for all your dedication to keep this channel going….mucho, mucho gracias! 🙏
✌️hay everyone! Stay strong happy sober Patty's day!!!
I am on another trigger: spring break. Being an educator, Fridays were the days to settle down after taking care of other people's kids. So spring break was the be all end all of getting drunk. I am, however, at home, on a Friday night, watching your video with a bottle of Dad's root beer. Thank you again for the support. I'm finishing day 193 of sobriety.

Nice talk and reminder to stay on the higher path. I sure don't miss the hangovers and the fear of what I did when I was drinking.
If I can stay sober in Spain*, and it's six and a half months now, anyone can stay sober no matter what holyday is! Sobriety is a wonderful journey, guys! Keep going and... Enjoy life in its entirety! *For those who don't know, in Spain everything is related to drinking alcohol: sadness, happiness, parties, meetings, promotions, work, bad days, good days... Everything!

I would like to sweetly remind you of an idea from one of your earlier videos. There are still a million things to do for fun after you get sober. The only two things you are missing out on are hangovers and drunk driving penalties. Ir is time to engage in the gentler, more subtle type of fun that sober people enjoy.
When I was drinking, the 2 days I stayed home were New Years Eve and St. Patrick's day. To many Sobriety check points. I called them rookie nights. 180 days sober, didn't even know it was drunk irish day...

Great episode. I like the focus early on about the journey to find oneself in sobriety. Oddly enough, in sobriety I became who I was at 8 years old--pure and kind. With alcohol I was funny, but dark and immensely self loathing. I guess I thought it was a fun, prolonged suicide. If one wants to know themselves, just remember your 8 year old heart (minus any fear from trauma), it will know how to connect with love. Strength lies there. Peace be with you all.
Hey Brother, day 80 sober for me. Nothing stronger than coffee for me on saint pat day. Plus I am not Irish anyway. Thanks for all of your great work 🇺🇸 🇳🇿

( I’m now down 14lb ) and feel so confident in how I look 😊 but yes I agreed to go out tomorrow.. I know I’m going to find it difficult with everyone drinking around me.. but I’ve been out a few times Lately and didn’t drink .. so wish me luck folks because this is a big day for me but I know alcohol is not worth it! And of course happy Saint Patrick’s Day to everyone 🇮🇪☘️🙏 and thank you jay for everything that you do.. you are one incredible person 🙏

I appreciate your honesty and before you go out, mentally prime yourself with some go-to NA drink choices, maybe set a time limit on how long you will be out, and a couple of crafty reasons to leave early if you need to. I have an app on my phone called "Call Assistant" where I can program a spoof/fake call to ring my phone at a certain time (call now, call in 5 minutes, or a specific time). and it looks like I'm getting a real call from a person in my contacts. Then I just pickup and say "ok I'll be there in a few, I'm leaving now". and there ya go lol
Tough for me this weekend. And yes I do have 2 wedding coming up this summer for two of my really close friends 😓

Just hit 10 days sober and this is the first time it feels like it is gonna stick, have been studying to become a makeup artist and aesthetitician but have struggled staying sober but got my hormones on track and has allowed me the peace of mind to be able to tackle sobriety. Started my journey with scaremongering videos about alcohol which made me KNOW I needed to change, once I WANTED it I shifted to videos about the positive outcomes of sobriety and keep coming back to this channel daily to reassure myself I'm on the right path 😊

The positivity that you find in my videos is a testimony to the changes I've seen in my own life. I was certainly a more negative person in my daily life. You're welcome back anytime, and you're always welcome to comment. I take the time to zero out my comments every morning M-F and even on weekends when I have time 😉
Thanks, not so much Saint Paddy‘s day but skipped art gallery openings last night b/c they pour the wine generously. The art will be there, I can go on a regular day. Just a little FOMO. Thanks for listening.
Great video. You are clearly dedicated to this channel and work very hard and I appreciate it. I have gotten a response or two from you on a comment of mine in the past, and I appreciate that too. Funny you mention the feeling of doing all the right things and things still don't add up, because that's how I felt this morning. Been doing great on not drinking, had a great workout yesterday, got a great night's sleep, but woke up when my alarm went off asking "What's the point of getting up? What's my purpose? What's my raison d'etre?" and had trouble coming up with much other than money. But, like you said, it's a journey, a process and the path won't always be easy and the reasons won't always be clear, but one must believe there will be hope. Thanks so much for the work you do!

Make sure you really examine your beliefs about alcohol... I had to look at my thinking closely about booze, if you are still thinking alcohol is good for you in some way, or if you are "missing out" because you "can't" drink you will have a harder time leaving booze behind. If you feel like being alcohol-free is "boring" you won't want to stick with it. Maybe you need to give sobriety some healthy new friends, hobbies, or activities? That might help. If you sit around feeling sorry for yourself and like you are missing out because you "can't drink" this will be harder for you than it has to be. Please don't give up on yourself.
These videos always give me a little tid bit or reminder at the right time just like AA meetings keep it up Jae! To anyone who’s weary of this weekend I just encourage you to set boundaries, make rational decisions and don’t be afraid to be a little selfish when it comes to maintaining your sobriety because for many like myself you take that first drink all best are off. God bless you all an d stay strong!

Good evening Jay. Yes you've responded to every comment I've left. I'm almost at 6 months and I feel really really good but like you with your channel I sometimes have the same problem which is hard for me to get motivated to make a video. But when I do I put everything into it that I can. March 22nd will be 6 months and I will be filming a video that day for my channel. Monday I will be putting a script together just to stay on track with what I want to talk about. For me the summertime will be the hardest since that's when I usually drank the most beers. I do appreciate you making these videos, I found them useful and I'm sure many many more I found them useful and motivational..

Sometimes I overwhelm myself. The last script was almost 4000 words, and it's hard to manage reading with speaking each word the way they were intended to be read, with having the correct body language and delivering the message so that it will be as impactful as possible. I know that each video is an opportunity to save someone's life, and I want to make sure that I'm my best and not limp in half motivated. it shows 🥺

CHECK ✅ There are more on the way, more holidays, birthdays, seasonal temptations, stressful days, SO...make this your motto: "I don't drink" not: I don't drink anymore I DON'T DRINK. once your mind is made up, there is no room for it. just like you don't: snort cocaine, shoot heroin, or do meth. I DON'T DRINK. 💪

Don't worry about a whole year! One day at a time is really true. You are doing great, just take it slow, you are off to a great start!
Hi from Ireland. It’s actually St Paddy’s day (not Patty!). Love your videos.

You're right! But most of the audience is American so I just spelled it Patty's this year. The previous year I wrote it out as Paddy for the livestreams we did 🥰
Spending this weekend on a sober hiking trip. And really having a lot of fun. The physical aspect has helped immensely. Starting to see some new paths to take figuratively and literally 😊. Thanks for another great video

Exercise is absolutely on the top of the list! Have a great hike! I just bought a new pair of hiking boots on Amazon. I ordered 4 different pair, and sent 3 back, kept 1. Waterproof, ankle high, sturdy but comfy, easy to slip on and off....so nice! If anyone is interested (in a men's pair) here's the link: XPETI Men's Pathfinder Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots a.co/d/b0PdSXi Sam highly recommends her Columbia boots, she just bought her second pair last week: Columbia Women's Newton Ridge Lightweight Waterproof Shoe Hiking Boot a.cold/2U7J265
Thanks for making this video Jae. Things have been going great with me overall, and I've never been the type to observe St. Patty's day, but I just feel like I'm dragging my feet through this day anyway for no reason. So this helps! It was comforting to hear a bit more about you personally in this one. I have gotten plenty of comments from you in the past and I always appreciate it.

This is great news!!! Thank you for blessing us with your recent success and we look forward to hearing more in the future! How do you plan to celebrate tonight btw??
I’m at 199 days! This time of year is hard for me because this time last year my best friend went off the deep end into her own alcoholism. She’s still struggling and has major health problems at 30 years old. I’m happy to be here and happy to be sober, but I’ve had this intense anxiety that I can’t shake. I guess it’s trauma. I was also extremely hammered this time last year, because I was so distraught about my friend. It’s so odd to remember where I was then and where I am now. I suppose I have survivors’ guilt since I made it out and changed my life and she has not. 💔🖤

Sam (my lady friend) has a friend like that. Their paths went in completely different directions. Cherish your sobriety, take it easy, and don't forget the self care! Pamper yourself

All journeys start with a single step! We have all had many day 1's, and I look forward to hearing from you on day 2, 3, 4, and 5 🥰
I find myself having to justify not drinking when I tell people that, only because I have an amazing memory for dates (all of my History teachers growing up would confirm), coupled with it being easy to type into Google "days since 6/4/2022," and so I usually know the "day count" I'm at. When I explain both of those to people they usually laugh and understand.

Awesome! Amazing! You are doing great. Please don't give up on yourself, you can reach that goal!
Skipped St. Paddy's Day this year ( I'd be craving an Irish coffee with whiskey). corned beef and cabbage I can make at home leaving out the Guiness) I am good with AF beers like O'Douls so could have that, But AF wines not so good. I mix white grape juice and diet gingerale to put in a wine glass. I smoked pot with that (it is legal now in CT) but it makes me cough so quit that expense. Got to keep working on replacing alcohol with better things in my life and stop looking for that buzz.

The real buzz is laying your head down at night knowing you did all that you could in a day. Accomplishment is the best sleeping pill 😴
4 months sober , going on a month tour with my band soon. Gonna be hard....

It's all hard, but work on making sobriety a healthy habit and it becomes easy. Lookup how many musicians got sober. There's more than you might think.

I play in bands too, it was a challenge to stay away from booze at gigs and especially on tour when I was away from home and I felt like "no one will know if I drink" ... If you can get through the first few days you will be fine, be honest with your band and crew people, if they know you're not drinking it will really help. I was surprised how supportive people were to me when I "came out" as sober. Many people in the business have well-publicized drug/alcohol/addiction problems, so nobody will be shocked about the news you are trying to stop drinking.
56 days sober boys!

There is also the fear of people thinking I’m judging them for drinking.

Halloween through New Year’s is very triggering for me. I’m 64 years old and I still have people trying to push alcohol on me when I say I don’t drink.
Calm down…. You’re fine just the way you are….
I’m not brave. This is me reaching out for help.
