Can I SOUNDPROOF My Van? No... BUT This Will Help | Ford Transit Camper Van Conversion Series [ 1 ]
Follow along as I self-build my own unique camper van inside a 2015 Ford Transit 350 Extended Cargo Van -- with no experience. ...and when I say "no experience," I mean ZERO EXPERIENCE! I have never done anything like this before, so I am learning as I go. I will make some mistakes, but that's okay.
Some people use the term "Soundproofing" when they really mean "Sound Deadening" or "Sound Dampening". There is no easy way to actually SOUND PROOF your van, but you can REDUCE noise by taking a few easy steps at the beginning of your build.
In this video, I show you what I did to accomplish this goal.
It should be noted that I have no relationship with the brands I used in these projects. I am simply showing what I happened to choose, but other brands or types may work just as well. This video is more about the PROJECTS than the PRODUCTS, and I recommend doing your own research to find the products that best fit your needs and budget. I think I would have concentrated the kilmat on the walls instead of the roof. You’re trying to dampen road noise and I feel you get very little road noise coming in through the roof. Insulation under your floor would be trying to quiet road noise also. You could also put some under the floor mats of the cab and up to the firewall. In my motorhome I removed the door panels and put some on the door, then re-installed the door panels. That helped a lot too.
