Can I Connect with My Loved One After Death? | Dr. Shabir Ally

A viewer asks, "Can I communicate with my loved one who has died?" Dr. Shabir Ally explains that this isn’t a question that is answered directly in the Quran or hadiths, and we don’t have a clear understanding of what happens when the human soul or consciousness leaves the body. The best we can do, he advises, is do good deeds on behalf of our deceased loved ones and ask God to bless them as a result of these good deeds.

The dead say Salam back. They are informed of your dua and say Ameen. ❤ IF you want to connect with a dead muslim, do good in Allahs eyes, say good to Allah on their behalf, and pray you will be reunited in paradise inshallah.

Awesome explanation. Maasha Allah. Jazakallahu khair. I read in a book that there is a concept called "near death stage(NDS)". It is said in it that a patient in unconscious state for brain surgery . The patient never seen brain surgeon before. But after surgery is over and patient is normal .. he met brain surgeon long after years and informed whatever he experienced when he operated his brain. The patient who is in unconcious state seen the surgeon during brain was getting operated. The surgeon was shocked after hearing this. He did research all the patients around globe and get their experience . Almost 30 to 40 percent of them shares similar experience. This is a metaphysical event .. this kind of state of mind is there. Wallahu 'alam, perhaps the kuffar soldiers to whom rasul(sal) speaking to may be in that stage. I believe the answer for this query is not clear cut. It is still a mystery. But I see some light that there is a possibility of the dead see the status of the effect of manifestation of their good deeds whatever they left in this world in barzakh. Same goes for bad deeds people left. Rasul (sal) saying every day morning or evening , disbelievers will be shown their place in hell and also believers will be shown their place in heaven. I believe with this concept mentioned above, their positions may not be static. It will be dynamic. Arrogant will be seeing their state of place lowering may be retributive state by God on behalf of those victims affect by the arrogant while sinners without much arrogance will see their place as purgative state as a purifying state i.e punishment as purification . Sinners without much arrogance may see their place differently .. while believers see in every day level increases . Everyday, they see new levels. Still what I meant believers and disbelievers is by Allah judge on their individuals conscience state which God alone knows. This is something I see. But I think dead cannot communicate to the living people of this world. Once dead get in barzakh, there is a barrier created., But the dead can listen to one living perhaps if Allah wishes but for which they cannot respond. Rasul(sal) asked us to do dua for deads in graveyaard..the dua starts "yaa ahla dhiyaar...". He directly addressing the inmates of deceased in graveyard. This means that dead can hear the living but not in the normal communicative way. This is something metaphysical for which we cant comprehend. This is my understanding. But wallahu 'alam what exactly the answer to this question.

I believe the following clearly answer the question It has also been rigorously authenticated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the bodies of the idolaters slain in the Battle of Badr to be buried. He then approached them and called them one by one and said, “Have you found what your Lord promised to be true for we have found what our Lord promised us to be true.” ‘Umar asked him, “O messenger of God! Why do you speak to lifeless bodies?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, “By the One Who has sent me with the truth! You do not hear my words better than they do except that they cannot respond.”

Very interesting. Dr Shabir is rather short on substance this time. He does not go beyond the Quran and a few Hadiths. Time is limited ? Bible and Christians scholars will have a lot to offer. Apostles' Creed/ Communion of Saints (q.v.), Purgatory (q.v) and Last Rites (q.v). are the key leads. Best practice is give the last rites even within one and half hours of death. 2nd November and the in fact whole month of November is reserved to pray for the dear ones and friends who had passed away. Some even arrange for Gregorian Masses ie 30 consecutive days of masses said from the day of death. Some Hindu customs recognise the 31st day after dead and Christians hold death anniversaries masses. Some even go further to remember the birthdays of the dead family members. No end to show love and affection. God is so kind and merciful. Some have seen dead family members showing up in their dreams nearer to their death anniversaries. In my case, in a dream my Dad joined us for caravan picnic in England albeit he is dead and buried in St Thomas Mount cemetery in South India!

It’s ok to ask for help in this world. All species contribute ( hopefully goodness and righteousness) . However, for spiritual help or guidance , only Allah. This topic in video seems to be similar to mediums. And it’s forbidden to be a medium or to seek worldly spirits. As it’s too easy to be fooled. One may think they are speaking to a certain someone, whilst in reality it could be a jinn. As Muslims, we must only connect spiritually and seek guidance from Allah. If He deems appropriate, He sometimes will send heavenly angels. And if this happens, you don’t need to hear it. You’ll just know. As far as the deceased are concerned. After physical demise, it’s either heaven( hopefully most go) or hell. As far as Allah allowing souls other than angels to drop into our atmosphere or our universe, from heaven, it’s not known for certain. This, only Allah knows for sure. When you think of loved ones you miss, trust that Allah has them protected and safe and loved.

If we count the words of this surah including the word (camels) till the end of the surah we found the number 37. For our big surprise 37 is the number of pair of chromosomes in camels. n= 37. ;. 2n= 74 number of chromosomes.

I just want to provide here an Orthodox Christian perspective on the Communion of Saints. Maybe this will help someone. In the Old Testament, the prophet Baruch asked God to hear the prayers of the dead Israelites. O Lord Almighty, Thou God of Israel, *hear now the prayers of the dead Israelites, and of their children,* which have sinned before Thee, and not hearkened unto the voice of Thee their God: for the which cause these plagues cleave unto us. (Baruch 3:4, KJV) In St. Matthew's Gospel, we can read about Rachel, who had died about 1700 or 1800 years earlier, weeping for her children. She knew what was happening on earth although she was dead. Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, *Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted,* because they are not. (Matthew 2:16-18, KJV) Children and believers have guardian angels. Guardian angels can hear us speak and see what we do even though we do not see them. Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven *their angels do always behold the face of My Father which is in heaven.* (Matthew 18:10, KJV) In some mysterious way, angels in heaven know what we are doing here on earth. They know when sinners repent. Angels are not omnipresent. Likewise, I say unto you, *there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.* (Luke 15:10, KJV) Several Old Testament Saints are mentioned in the 11th chapter of Hebrews. Abel (Hebrews 11:4), Enoch (Hebrews 11:5), Noah (Hebrews 11:7), Abraham (Hebrews 11:8-10, 17-19), Sarah (11:11,12), Isaac (Hebrews 11:18-20), Jacob (Hebrews 11:20,21), Joseph (Hebrews 11:22), Moses (Hebrews 11:23-29), the Israelites under Joshua (Hebrews 11:30), Rahab (Hebrews 11:31), Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephtha, David, Samuel, the rest of the prophets (Hebrews 11:32), several others (Hebrews 11:35-40) In the first two verses of the following chapter, St. Paul calls those Old Testament Saints "a great cloud of witnesses." They compass us. In some mysterious way, they know what we are doing, but they are not omnipresent. Wherefore seeing *we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,* let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1,2, KJV) Later in the same chapter, St. Paul says that we have come to an innumerable company of angels and the spirits of just men made perfect. Although the angels and the spirits of just men are not omnipresent, we can still be in their presence through some mysterious means established by God who is omnipresent. But *ye are come* unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and *to an innumerable company of angels,* to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, *and to the spirits of just men made perfect,* and to Jesus the mediator of the New Covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. (Hebrews 12:22-24, KJV) There is nothing wrong with asking someone to pray for you. When someone does that, he is not worshiping the person whom he asks for prayer. Likewise, there is nothing wrong with asking for the prayers of one's guardian angel or any other angel. There is nothing wrong with asking for the prayers of a pious deceased person. People in heaven pray. And when he had opened the fifth seal, *I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: and they cried with a loud voice,* saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost Thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? (Revelation 6:9,10, KJV) Don't do what King Saul did. He went to a medium so that he could talk to the prophet Samuel who had died. (I Samuel 28:3-25) It is not necessary to talk to some pious person by going to a medium. Actually, God forbids us from doing this. (Deuteronomy 18:9-12; Isaiah 8:19) In the case of King Saul and the medium, the entity that came out of the ground and talked to Saul may have been a demon and not the soul of Samuel. Tertullian and several Church Fathers (Ss. Hippolytus, Ephrem the Syrian, Evagrius, Basil the Great, Jerome, Ambrosiaster, and Gregory of Nyssa) say this was a demon pretending to be Samuel. In Isaiah 8:19, it is talking about seeking the help of the dead through mediums. That is an occult practice. For everything God has, the devil has a counterfeit. We can ask for the prayers of Saints and pious deceased persons, but we are not supposed to go to mediums or engage in occult practices to contact them. In some mysterious way, those in heaven know what happens on earth. In some mysterious way, they can hear us when we request their prayers. Just simply ask the Saint, angel, or other pious deceased person to pray for you about something. I have done it many times. It works! "God is wondrous in His Saints."
