On 19th September 2021, thousands of people around the world completed 10 kilometres in order to set a new world record. I'd registered to take part months earlier and told myself I'd train for it. Did I train for it? Nope!! But I still tried to do it. Every participant had to log their effort on an app, which tracked our progress via GPS (so no-one could cheat). And it was one of the most painful experiences of my life...
