Can I Beat The Hardest Game Rockstar Ever Made?
Ойындар
Midnight Club 2 is still remembered by many as one of the hardest racing games ever made. In fact, one could consider it the toughest game in Rockstar Games history. Will I be able to beat it before going insane?

There's a vibe in Midnight Club 2 that no other racing game has (other than maybe NFS Underground 1) with it's menu, characters and soundtrack (especially the soundtrack). Out of all the racing game plots out there, I think Midnight Club 2's plot is the one that could be perfectly adapted to a movie or a TV show like imagine if the studio behind Hot Wheels AcceleRacers made an animated series using Midnight Club 2's story, complete with the voice actors and soundtrack from the game. The main character could even be modelled after Vert Wheeler from AcceleRacers and even be voiced by his actor and it would still fit with the story.

Midnight club 2 has a night life vibe to it . Mixed with how I would think actual real life fast and furious would be. i think this game and the los Angeles map caused me to love midnight setting and dusk/dawn setting
18:37 the dev who placed that finish line there needs a pay cut.
Bro I'm so glad you've finally done MC2. This was by far the underdog and unsung hero of the series in my opinion. Captured a true sense of speed in this game and I only wish the career was a little longer

Fun fact: You can (for whatever reason) make the game harder!! There's a cheat called "howhardcanitbe" and you put the final digit as a singular number ranging between 0 and 9. Zero being baby first's street race and 9 being "THE MORE YOU FUCK AROUND, THE MORE YOU'RE GONNA FIND OUT" I believe the game's base difficulty setting is 4 or 5.

The casual vehicular manslaughter edits in the video had me absolutely rolling 😂😂
36:00 That Paris race is actually called Stage III - Burn. I think that name was intentional as you just burn up in anger from all the attempts, and you feel burned out when you finally win, no other race in this game compares. But if you play the Decade Edition mod of this...about 90% of the races made for it are on Burn's level of deviousness.
Elements of trance based gaming. One of the best OSTs
Now try, Midnight club 2: new challenge Its an insane mod with completly new story races, map rework, new carmodels, new songs, and insane difficulty
I’m glad my 20 year old memories of this game being hard weren’t wrong
MCII is so fun. I fucking HATE that nobody has the balls to make street racing games with actual TRAFFIC anymore, dodging traffic is part of the fun of driving fast. This game is one of the biggest racing game gems for me. Edit: props for the shirobako clip at 32:02

As someone who has finished this game countless times in my from 10 year old me until 18 year old me, watching Eden play this and suffer a lot just brings me joy knowing that I am not the only one who still sucks at this game even today. Great video btw.

One tiny fun fact!: In the rain, traffic cars actually have a small chance of randomly initiating car crashes. You can especially see this on highways. This is different from the scripted traffic crashes during races, as they can happen anytime, anywhere, solely because it's raining

This video is fire (as always), i'm loving how the editor, goofs arround with Eden missing checkpoints, hitting stuff, and giving zero fucks about the pedestrians he runs over. Also, i really liked the white hoodie and the blue shirt, they suited you really well, Eden. I honestly think that if i someday get to edit my ETS2 clips imma do it something like you guys do. 17:00 did they really add skulls falling in the Paris catacombs? Man thats dark
11:14 I finally realised that the checkpoints in this race form the image of a flaccid PP. There's another PP joke where one of the races in Paris has the cars in the start line arranged to form a PP and balls (you can see it at 39:57).

One of the things that adds to the difficulty is that the pc port's physics, much like the GTA ports of the time, seem to break slightly at high frame rates. Now that doesn't make it unplayable but I did seem to have a less consistent playthrough on the port than the emulator.

maaaan i miss so much MC2, i used to play on the xbox, was one of the first racing games i ever played, i remember raging as a kid, and then when i went back to my country i tried to play it again and actually finished it, gave me so much satisfaction, also there’s a glitch with the bike, when u crash and your character falls, pause the game and then resume. Also i remember there were a lot of cheat codes, like for guns, police cars and a Batmobile

i swear this is the funniest video on racing games
Tonight on bottom gear, Eden do Roadkill, NFS UC bloom type, and skill issue
there's some remnants and some interesting things of Midnight Club 2 which was left unused/cut and two cut cars were the SLF400 and the Kuruma Faasuto GT from the first Midnight Club game
1:53 Yeah Pedestrians make a city more alive, I really hope they include Peds like that in TDU:SC. HongKong Island has over 7 million residents and without them a game world looks/ feels just lifeless and stale. Maybe make them so full of speed and life you cant actually hit them with licensed cars tho :)
@fizzisoda7113
7 күн бұрын
Not likely gonna happen because of car licensing. Car manufacturers have gotten a lot stricter as of late and don't want their cars running over or almost running over people. Do they have to choose: more cars or have pedestrians that adds nothing to the gameplay.

As a kid, I already had trouble doing the tokyo races with the cheat "howhardcanitbe0" (especially Hailey races, from what I remember) 💀 But I retried a playthrough on my PS2 some years ago (the legit way this time) and I beat the game for true! Yes it's hard and unfair, but not impossible. Dustin, I think you were a bit harsh with MC1, but I'm glad you appreciate MC2 this much! This game feels very underrated.
Love the new hair in the intro it suits ur face nicely
In the Savo Paris race a better route is to go for the upper right corner checkpoint first and then do the rest counterclockwise. That way the last checkpoint will have a pretty straight forward line back to the finish line.
The NPCs in this game are like possessed by Jericho in Driver San Francisco
13:34 flying to the finish line plus one crash hahaha😂😂😂😂😂

It's been bettered but has enough of it's own that it's still worth a revisit. Still night cruise to some of the soundtrack

My only time beating this game I restarted so many times and in the very last race I literally had 1 hp and nitrous boost the last jump
Are you also playing the new Challenge Mod?
You can adjust difficult by cheat codes after finish the career.
Rockstar has always made great and challenging games.
Midnight Club 2, aka you will be assaulted by a random bus over and over again - the game. The thing is I love 2's track design. While some of the checkpoint placements result with a very stop and go flow to the race, many are places in a manner where you have to seriously think about the city's layout to get the best results which makes learning the game feel pretty satisfying. And then you combine the game's art style with the soundtrack that created mixes of multiple songs to better sync up with the race countdown, making the game feel like an interactive music album, especially since the most songs are specifically associated with certain rivals. This game is a vibe. 3 has better pacing and the races flow better, but 2's races have that unhinged level of demand that makes it feel far more rewarding to get through. 3's track design comes across a bit too easy after playing 2. LA's even more so, man LA could've used more interesting checkpoint layouts.. Also agreed, I prefer 2's soundtrack over 3. 3 has some neat rock but the drum and bass gets rather repetitive after a while, the hip hop stuff is kinda just there, the weird dance hall is more amusing than enjoyable and there's a lot of weird song choices. 3 has a lot of music but most of it doesn't really hit that well. LA's feels more balanced, but 2 really makes the soundtrack stand out.

Honestly? I only used the Jersey XS for the time I raced in Paris. Mainly because of how heavy it is compared to the cars you get there. Makes it more planted and manageable with the traffic hits and all that. I also feel like the races with the Torque JX (Skyline) were going against the AI too. Since that car is amazing in dry weather but when it rains? It just craps out terribly from being uncontrollable.
