I liked this idea a lot. A person could get really creative about the rules of when, how you get to use it. I hope he plays the last Magus bot. I wonder if he started with at least two to three moves, would he need much more then 4 checks to beat it.

This is actually a very interesting case study into how a strong player can become extremely strong by just taking a few suggestions from the engine
You did it Levy! Now it's time to beat actual Magnus in TT, I believe in the dream

The problem (which you noticed) about having just a few Stockfish recommendations, is that sometimes he plays a move for a reason that's not apparent to you, 10 moves down the line... So playing "the right move" may not do anything for you, as you don't know the continuation. For this reason, if I had to win a game with such Stockfish lifelines, I'd try to get to an OK mid/late position, and would use all my stockfish recommendations in a row (well, skipping the obvious moves like recaptures). This way, I don't just get 3-4 random moves I don't understand, I get a line of 4 perfect moves!

I would need more than a hundred hints from stockfish to win a game against a Magnus bot.
Levi has more Magnus content than Magnus himself.
I think it would be fun if levy were to do a similar type of video but for each life line he asks a different bot and they get progressively worse or better e.g. you ask stockfish for the first leela for the second torch for the third or something like that
@kzkaa.
5 ай бұрын
Those three bots are so powerful it might hardly be much different. What I suggest(if we're going with progressively worse) is starting with stockfish(or any other high rated chess bot) and ending with something like Martin.
@dRAFTsTAMP42
5 ай бұрын
Or he could do from worst to best starting with a bot like Martin and ending with stockfish but where he has to play the move that he’s given
Edging up on 1300 now after getting back into chess, I just bought your book! Hope I learn a lot from it, but in any case happy to support you after all those hours of entertainment :)
Levy always finds a way to milk Magnus
I would Like to see content (again) where you receive games from viewers and you roast and analyze them at the same time. Was very helpful for me personal and fun to see also. 🙏🏼
I really liked this video, fun and instructive. Now we need the three headed Magnus on the chopping block! =]

What a content idea. Starting new year strong with the best from your vault.
I love how Levy is Gothamfish in these games

32:19 😂 YO, the queen is TRAPPED with this man becate a talking mime LOOK AT HIM WHILE HE SAYS THAT THOSE HANDSIGNS KILLED ME😂💀
Stockfish never fails.
Levy never fails to play like a bot
similar video playing against bots with the evaluation bar would be interesting also
Now you’re the best in the history of chess
In addition to being interesting content, this also illustrates the issue of potential online cheating in high ranks. Levy cheating for 5 moves per game matches a bot 500 points higher than him, and he's good enough that it's not inconceivable that he could see stockfish's suggestions on his own (obviously not that often, but...) a 2500+ rated player cheating on one move every few games could easily make the difference between winning or losing a high level tournament or gaining 100 points over time while also being pretty much completely undetectable without having someone physically watching them the entire time they played.
gotham is such a humble dude to play against a small player like magnus
The problem with getting computer help is that the following moves too are supposed to be played by a computer.
the duo bird behind scares me
That first game is literally how magnus win a lot of his games. Play all the way until end game for the opponent to slip
Would be hilarious if Levy just asked stockfish what opening he should play in the first game and won anyway
GothamFish, That's a nice name to use in tournament 😂 " How the fuck you know I was cheating?" 😂
Very good, actually a smart video idea with the lifeline thing. Sometimes people underappreciate how creative Levy can be
I still say that I want this to be a tournament format. Explicit computer-assisted chess, with a given number of moves each player gets to consult. (I might even consider trying it where black gets one more consult than white, say 4 vs 3, to see if that offsets the white advantage in play.)
I beat the Magni on assisted. I started with the Pirc opening, which is a very passive but well-defended position, and it was normal but with a lot of knight shuffling until the bot overextended slightly.
Next battle is gonna be Martian v stockfish
crazy to think mittens was a year ago
This is the moment Ive been waiting for, levy said I can finally cheat in chess.
As another variation, how about saying that on any turn you may ask Stockfish for the best move, *but* you must not play the recommended move on that turn; you may play it later on a turn where you don't ask Stockfish for the best move, but of course the move might no longer be optimal then.
Levy: I can’t win! 😭 Stockfish: Eh… draw 😑 Levi: I can’t lose! 🥳 Stockfish: Eh… draw 😑
KZread never fails to update the adblock blocker
I mean, that is a very Magnus thing to do right? Winning a drawn endgame😂
Levy should play the actual magnus with this method
"Can I beat Magnus Carlsen if I cheat?" I think another chess player asked himself the same question at the end of 2022 😂
Levi never fails to advertise cheaper car rent prices in Czech republic
There's a harder bot Magnus bot called the magni. If your on phone scroll all the way to the bottom and you find it there
This Magnus guy must be a good player to get bots made after him
i can't believe mittens was a year ago
Great content idea. Lifelines in chess great stuff levy:)
Alternate title: I beat Santa Claus in chess
Levy never fails to use stockfish in order to beat magni.
Just thinking... because predicting what Stockfish's plan is from one single suggestion is quite hard in many situations (like you said), wouldn't using 2-3 suggestions in a row, so you get a better idea of it's plan, be the better strategy, rather than using 3 or 4 single suggestions at different times?
@jackweslycamacho8982
5 ай бұрын
It has its drawbacks. Playing against bots is just too tough, so it is very wise to save a lifeline for some random counterplay the bot comes up with.
Levy has finally won. It's over.
Thats a hell of a fish you got there
Maybe the key would be to use all 4 stockfish moves together in the mid game to let it flesh out it's ideas
i love the smooth transition to the ad
17:40 "here comes stockfish" lmao, habits
[Magnus left the chatroom and his cat played for him]
Levy never fails to add Gothamfish in his videos
As someone who follows TCEC, we all know g4 is the way The Fish starts his best attacks.
"And is supported by basically ANY type of device known to humans!" Me : Going to my oldest gameboy.
"Levi is your videos click baity?" Levi: "obviously"
Why levy is like the ad bishop😂
Magnus finally agreed to use only 5% of his power to let levy win this achievement
Take a shot every time Levy says Magnus
Fighting fire with fire Gotham-Fish is the cyborg we all needed to defeat the ai baby terminators
An interesting idea could be to add multiple lifelines, like ask stockfish, look at the evaluation bar, etc.
This was one of my favorite videos. I really like when you analyze your own games. I feel like I learn a lot
