Can Hybrid Solutions scratch repair kit replace clear coat?

This time around I try an off label application of Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Scratch Repair Kit. I had some peeling clear coat on my Camaro SS and wanted to see if the Hybrid Solutions could replace the original clear coat. I wet sanded the edges of the peeling clear to feather it. I then used the compound in the kit with my Dewalt cordless DA polisher on a Griots Garage microfiber pad. After the polishing I applied the clear coat and it came out looking decent, and more importantly the surface is protected until I can get the car painted.

lol a polisher cost roughly $400 a paint job cost roughly $10000

@@completeturnarounddetailin3536 haha. I'm just poking fun. But honestly not that much to respray a panel. 500 Max for a high end body shop. 100 bucks if you diy it
How'd it hold up. I have a super small area of clear coat flaking and don't feel like sanding and respraying.

@@btbd2785 hey, I did it on my small patch of peeling and its basically invisible my car is a dark metallic grey so maybe thats why. Its also continuing to hold up in the sun.
