The only reason Austria and Hungary united was because once they had a common enemy in the Turks. At one point Hungary barely existed but all Hungarians came under the protection of the Austrians, when they started winning back land. There was never really any hate between these two peoples.

Marina Joyce and Belgium isn’t really fake. It declared independence and fought a war against the Northern Netherlands (Holland, Brabant Friesland, and the Southern Netherlands now called Belgium with Flanders and Wallonia). It’s real name is Belgium, however it’s technical name is the “Southern Netherlands”.

Whenever I watch these I realize how far we've come since WW2, because not including Russia, the idea of two European countries going to war with each other is simply unfathomable to me.

If taking Canada is a minimum condition to win, then US could probably do it, and likely Greenland and Iceland too. However, I doubt US could win in European theater. Sure, from the past results, US is nominally more powerful than Russia, but the geography would be a logistical nightmare because the only way US can't reach Europe by land, and air/sea invasion is much more resources-intensive.

actually there is a big chance for hungarian win with the guerilla warfare stuff the minorities would try to make their own nation there and most likely transvylnaya only be released making the two countries even with their territory "gains" and transvylnanys we will be better to live there and they would know how they need to treat the minorities making székelys gypsies and others in equality for speaking the offical launage could be english so everybody is cool with it and cultures could stay and even in school there could be cultural learning about the other minorities kinda like a safe zone for those who got discrinameted

Great theory , but Austria and Hungary where always alis . we both have the same enemies , in the last 500 years at least . Our people died together , in the last few wars . Culturally same prioritys , nation, family ,religion .

An Austro-Hungarian war would quite possibly be the dumbest thing since fidget spinners. There's absolutely _nothing_ to be gained from it, for either party. Just a waste of men and gear.

As someone of Hungarian descent Romania would win. The treaty of Trianon`s geographical changes were made so that Hungary would lose in any offensive and most defensive wars with its than neighbors and Romanias the only one whose mostly retained its pre ww2 borders. So in a 1v1 Hungary would unfortunately lose. But in real life wars are rarely a 1v1 and Hungary does`nt need a handicap to win wars.

Still good experience fighting a real war. Though Romania has experience training with Nato, so it's a good match up.

That's a quite intresting vid as I'm a citicen of one of these countries! But, there is no point. Austria attacks: a lot to lose. Hungary attacks: a lot to lose. The whole aggression would be stalled through mutual bureaucracy procedures, until everyone forgets about what this was about.

IDK, considering that Artsakh will fight on Armenia's side, and Armenia, while having a smaller population and less resources, is the 3rd most militarized nation on the planet, after Israel and Singapore.

Being a buffer country in the cold war Austria developed its own defensive doctrine against a threat from the warsaw pact. Being greatly outnumbered the army would mostly focus on so called Schlüsselzonen (key-zones) which would be heavily defended while most of the country would be Raumverteidigungszonen where small numbers would fight some kind of guerilla warfare against the invader perfoming attacks on infrastructure and so on. So the base strategy of Austria was detterence. Not being able to withstand a full scale invasion the goal was to make an invansion as costly as possible to frighten enemy armies not to attack Austria. And intelligence intel showed that hungarian generals were aware of that strategy and were also quite concerend about an invasion. Even though this plan was from the 70s i think most of this tactics can and will be used today. I dont think that our country has the force for attacking Hungary. It will mostly focus on defence. Even though our army is smaller still most of the male population served a few months in the army so within 1-2 months Austria could mobilize probably 200.000-300.000 men. Most of them not serving directly on the front but in logistics or as engineers.

In theory, the pool for reserves is almost 900k. If the war is even longer, even civilists and people who did Civil service, could be taken into battle by law. Highly hypothetical, as the whole fight between Austria and Hungary.

dzejrid like I said volunteers, mostly either civillians or ex soldiers travelling to austria to fight, just like the mess in syria, foreign fithers and poland can't just attack someone because it's citizen help a neighbouring country.

Meanwhile Hungary can't finance social supports in a war situation, a big horde would march toward the west leaving only devastation behind them (muhaha). :3
