people act like we really have a choice. We won't have a place to play if we build on the current site. We also won't have a dome that way. Brook Park might take some adjusting, but the dome will be 10 X better than trying to renovate the current garbage can of stadium we have now. Brook Park is basically Cleveland. The Art model Law shouldn't apply in this situation. That was put in place so the Browns didn't move out of sate not 10 minuets down the road! Downtown Cleveland isn't that great. It's not the end of the world if they move from downtown.

The browns would have to play in canton for them to stay where they are. Nobody wants that. If the new stadium in Brook park needs renovations in 40 years and the lake front is more developed by then, I’m all for the browns moving back to their original spot. But trying to keep them there now is a terrible idea and even you know that. 😂

The city council can’t do a darn thing if he wants to move. The Haslams would win in court . I’d love to see a retractable dome where you don’t have to park a mile away

The City of Cleveland can do absolutely nothing to stop the Browns from leaving once the lease expires. Council resoultions are meaningless. Having said that, Haslam isnt moving to Brookpark. He has not purchased the land, and despite reports, he has no option to purchase it. This is all Haslam trying to get Cleveland to fund their downtown stadium project.

Yes Brookpark Browns. Maby they might finally get to the big show. But this wont happen. Cleveland still keeps there name on it. Technically its the Cleveland metro area. If the city wants them to stay downtown .buy them off of Haslam and make them city owned like the Greenbay Packers.

Haslam plans to move the Browns to another city. The new stadium is all smoke and mirrors so he can say he tried working with Cleveland, but they wouldn't pay for a new stadium, so he's moving elsewhere.

I don't love insults, but you're an idiot. The law they are referring to in this video is quite literally what would prevent Haslam from moving to another city/state. Unless they want to make them the Akron Browns, they can't. And Browns have some of the most passionate fans in the NFL. Sell out every game. There are several teams that would be granted a relocation before Cleveland. It's not in the NFL or the Haslam's interest to move somewhere. Where would you go to? St Louis? Portland? Lmfao. You don't understand business or in this case, law. -- After the Browns move to Baltimore in 1996, Ohio enacted the “Art Modell Law” named after the infamous team owner. The law, RC 9.67, is titled “Restrictions on owner of professional sports team that uses a tax-supported facility.” Under the law, professional sports teams that plays their home games in tax-supported stadiums and receive financial assistance from Ohio cannot move to a new location without either: 1.) entering into an agreement with the political subdivision where the tax-supported stadium is located permitting the franchise to relocate (consent of the hometown); or 2.) giving six-months’ notice of the intention to move, and, during the six months after the notice, ***giving local individuals or groups the opportunity to purchase the team.***
