No, but as someone with thinning hair in her mid-30s due to health problems, I would. I’ve worn hair coverings my Orthodoc Jewish friend bought me in the past, and I love them. Hijabs are absolutely beautiful. The same problems that make my hair thin also make me *extremely* heat sensitive, though, and I’ve had to stop wearing the coverings I was. I doubt I could tolerate a hijab.

I do have two hijabs that I bought at an Indian clothing store in my area; they carry both Muslim and Hindu attire. I've worn them as shawls, scarves, and, in hot weather, as sarongs. Their fabrics are soft, beautiful, and some cotton like material I've NEVER found anywhere else. It's like BABY SOFT lightweight cotton. I even have a hankerchief hem skirt that I refuse to part with because of the feel of the cotton material. I REALLY wish I could find the material because I'd be buying yards of it in multiple colors! Much Love and Blessings to you and your wonderful family!💖💖😘😘🙏🙏👍👍

@@jamessiriuspotter9598 Sorry not sorry, but you do not get to decide what people of a faith choose to call themselves. You don't have to use the term for yourself because you personally don't like where it comes from. I get that! That's totally up to you and people should respect that! But you don't get to disrespect what other people choose to call themselves. Words change. The term pagan is a simple term most people know and have a semi-familar definition with it. It's a easy term. If you don't personally like it, that's your business. But you have no right telling other people what to call themselves.

Headcoverings are SO universal! ☺️ It's only recently that western women have abandoned the tradition. Rebecca wore "hijab" (in quotes because it would have been called something else but was the same concept) back in 1800BC. Hebrew women carried on the tradition through the centuries up until the Apostle Paul (for my Christian sisters) called us to head cover during prayer and prophesy. And when Muhammad founded Islam in the 7th century he held on to this beautiful tradition! I'm not trying to be a boring history nerd or anything lol, but I just LOVE how headcoverings can connect women of many nations, many cultures, and many religions. We too often forget that people are a whole lot more alike than we are different. 🥰

There is a misconception that only Muslim women wear hijab (headscarf/covering) All religions have people who wear it. However, as a westerner in a politically charged country, the hijab was the one aspect that I had worries about simply due to the unfortunate stigmatized nature that it carries in the states. I'm sure that you're aware that covering the head and modest wear has been a thing in the Catholic church for centuries. Think of nuns - their headwear is basically a hijab. Therefore, choosing to wear a hijab is not foreign to your own religion. I hope that gives you some comfort and confidence.

It's a hijab. It's exactly the same same size you sell from your store, and it's FABULOUS.

This is so refreshing. There are so many BEAUTIFUL items of clothing from different cultures and religions that I would adore to wear but I'm hesitant to even ask if that's allowed because I'm afraid of offending anyone. I would never dream of using any item of clothing from a culture or religion to make fun of them - who does that? Anyway, it's great to hear that not only is it ok to purchase a hijab but it's ok to wear them differently. I've always wanted one to use as a scarf or shawl but wasn't sure if that would be ok. Now I know it's not an fully intend on purchasing one! Yay! :D

I’m so glad you answered that. I’d been wondering if I wanted to wear one for fashion if it would’ve been viewed as offensive. I really appreciate your videos. I once found a beautifully hand decorated Qur’an or prayer book in a used book store. I don’t read Arabic but it looked like someone’s personal book & definitely didn’t belong in a used book bin. It even had hand written notes in Arabic. I took it to a local mosque as I thought they would know best what to do with it. I was treated politely but left feeling I had done something wrong but I don’t know what it was. It was so beautiful I would’ve loved to have kept it but I had a very strong feeling when I bought it that I wasn’t meant to keep it, but to take it to a safe place. It was an unusual experience, to say the least.

I love hijab. I realized this years ago because I had a large stretchy scarf I started wrapping around my head and neck in winter. I loved how it felt and thought it made my face look beautiful. I also felt empowered in a way I can't describe. I didn't want to stop when winter was over. My daughter loves them as well. I'm still afraid of offending because I'm not Muslim or religious in any way. I'm Black/White and won't even wear braids in my hair because the one time I did another Black woman told me I shouldn't be wearing them because I'm not "Black" enough. I felt really bad. I wish borrowing beautiful aspects from other parts of the world in celebration wasn't so frowned upon. All the best to you and your beautiful family 💙.

Love the positivity your whole family shows! And thank you for educational videos that you put out all the time! I used to be afraid to approach hijabi women to give them a compliment on their hijab but now I get to see all the smiles that we can bring to your community just by saying how beautiful and powerful you all are your confidence and happiness in you hijab is all I need to get through my day maybe one day I'll wear one but at the moment I live with very strict parents. I always have you guys in my thoughts and prayers!

hey Girls what i wanted to add is that many people think that veiling is just "Islamic thing", no in other religions (or culutre aswell) woman also veil themselfes. The headscarf is even mentioned in the bible (1 Corinthians 11:5-6). Islam is not the only religion with veiling woman. May god bless all of us

I have never had a relationship with any god or really been involved with any religion. I am from a western, mainly christian country but something about wearing a scarf like a hijab has always made me feel such a deep sense of peace and comfort i dont know how to explain it. Now ive never done it in public or outside my room for that matter as i feel it would be resieved in a very bad way here, either through islamophobia or by people seeing it as insensitive though they would not be necesserily muslim themselves. I feel like the connection with allah and with the religion is to some extent required but at the same time the religion is very hard to approach for me from where i currently stand but you have no idea how lovely this video is to see and how good it feels to know such warm hearted people exist. Your hijabs are beyond gorgeous!!

That always makes Christians shocked haha 😄

I’m on cancer treatment and I have almost no hair now and they make me look and feel amazing plus I don’t like to go inside a holy place with this hair so short. Thanks for all the education you give to the world about been Muslim and the love and respect the religion have for others.

This is similar with Indians! Alot of my friends and some teachers ask if its cultural appropriation if they wear Indian clothes or yk take part in festivals and activities, and most of the time we would be so happy to see people enjoying our culture! Like Sana said, unless you are trying to mock or make fun of us, its amazing to see people embracing different cultures! P.S - I love how there are so many similarities in between different cultures, it makes me happy to see😁😁

Wearing it for religious reasons is what makes it a hijab. It's literally just rectangular piece of cloth. You could buy a piece of cloth and wear it exactly like she does, but it would only be a hijab if you do it for religious reasons.

Correct. And for pagans or others who do use it, they call it veiling or headcoverings instead and can be worn in different styles, or the way hijab is worn.
