I might inform her as well where to get access of these lovely hijabs, scarf, etc we have. I am a muslim mum. I wear hijab since I was 13 with my own decision. At first my dad opposed but let me wear it at the end. I went to a state school in Indonesia and was the only one who wore hijab at that junior high-school. I am also the first girl that wearing hijab at my family, few years after that my mum and my sister wear hijab too.

I think it will be ok as long as our appearance don't confused our gender, but nowaday lots of short hair style also looks feminine. You can wave it, make it curly, rebonding. Actually its quite fun because you can really experiments such as with metalic pink, blue, green colours. No need to worries you won't have a bad hair days nobody will see it except your family. You said you homeschool your kids for the first few years...does that mean they will attend public school at maybe middle school? If so and they make friends (which they seem so sweet and friendly I'm sure they will) will they be limited to making friends with boys? Hanging out and what not? :) or if they have friends now with neighbors will they be limited?

I’m most cultures, the Christian female friend of a Muslim woman visiting the Muslim household doesn’t need to put on a hijab whatsoever “to show respect”. Because we perceive hijab as something only those women do who have taken it upon themselves to practice it. We don’t expect anyone else (all the more so, from outside Islam) to put it on momentarily for our sake. But with the commenter above me I agree that the man in a Muslim family usually doesn’t hang around when the Muslim woman has a female friend visiting:) it’s considered part of the respectful distance between genders that he’s in another section of the house or outside at that time.

Hey; sorry my answer may come 1 year late. Even if you’re in a space where there are only women, during the ritual prayer a Muslim woman must anyway wear covering clothing + headscarf. It’s a requirement during prayer :) but once a prayer is finished, she can take off the hijab in a women-only space.:) even if we’re alone at home we must wear covering clothing during prayer. And you are so nice and considerate that you didn’t talk to her during the prayer! You really have good culture sensitivity.

Hi all! I am new to Islam (Not really new new but still there are lots of things I don't know). I have a question. If my husband allows me to go to Turkish bath. What can I wear? Should I still hide my private part? I have no idea since I've heard Turkish bath is gender separated. I don't know where to find the answer...wondering if anyone knows this. I am also curious..I used to go to a swimming pool, as far as I know, I gotta wear burkini. But I am wondering what's the rule to follow in ladies' change room as a female Muslim. Sorry...I have so many questions..I grew up in non-Muslim country and there's no one to ask other than my husband but since he is a man (he doesn't have any female siblings either), he can't give me any advice on ladies part. I'd appreciate if you could share your knowledge. Thank you in advance.

Hello! Hello! I don't really know what a Turkish bath is but I do know that you should always be covered from navel to knee in loose clothing in front of any women, and the men who are mehram to you (father, brother, grandfather, maternal/paternal uncles), except your spouse. So if the bath is gender separated, and there's only females around, you should be covered from navel to knee. As for the changing room, make sure you change in a separate area where no one else is present (I'm pretty sure there are cubicles, right?), Other than that, as long as navel to knee is covered, you should be fine. Hope this helps!

I thought the neckline of those dressed is where the navel starts, thank you so much for clearing my confusion

Hey my friend, If a woman is Muslim, she should cover some parts of her body which is for her own best; we call that coverage Hijab (That's not the whole definition of Hijab though). Therefore, if you see someone not wearing Hijab while they're Muslim, they are doing it wrong, making a mistake. About wearing Hijab and praying, it is needed for example in Salaat, since you are talking to your Allah, and who else is more important than Allah? So that's why we should wear our best clothes and of course consider Hijab. I hope it'll be helpful to you.

@@SalehFamily The fact that she was wearing a veil doesn not mean its good either. Why would it be good if mary wore it or not ? It's bad either way

@@bestofbest.811 so ? Why should you obey someone that commands you to do something irrational and against your freedom ? You should fight someone like that, not submit to him
