I just purchased a Sea to Sky and the first thing I did was to add lights to the front finder which lights up and blinks with turn signals. I followed your advice and I feel safer already. Thanks for the advice. I also heard you talking about stopping the site. I really hope you don't. You are a true coach and I've learned a lot from your site. When I feel intimidated about riding a three-wheel reverse trike I turn to you for a pep talk. Thanks for all you do. Darrell Roark Clemmons NC. Hope to meet you at some event sometime.

If you hold the windshield switch in the up position when you shut down the engine the windshield will stay up. I do this all the time as it is a lot easier to clean the front area with the windshield up. Give it a try. Just continue to hold the switch until you take the key out.

Nicely done. The ‘20 and up are nicer but the up front cost is higher. I have a 2012 and have cured all the heat issues. I love it. It is a riot to drive and other than really windy days and passing semi’s is as good as it gets touring. Of course I do all my own work on it. The 14-19 is the current best value, newer is better.

I bought a 2022 Sea to Sky this summer and I absolutely love it (which really surprised me, coming from a long line of Harleys). Here in rural France, the roads are bumpy and very twisty so you absolutely need to upgrade the front springs and swaybar. Because of this, the front end dips a lot less and when you really hit the brakes it's like hitting a brick wall. I've never known brakes like it on any machine. The lights are superb too, I was stunned how they lit up the road compared to my 2 wheelers. Having said all that, I'm with Coach Vic. The earlier models look way cooler! My girlfriend says the Sea to Sky looks like a ride-on mower😂. Mind you, she's never forgiven me for getting rid of the Harley 😂. If I could have all the advantages of the Sea to Sky in the 2019 style then I'd be an even happier man😂 Great video as always Coach Bob, ride safe.

My best friend who got me into the Spyderverse has a 2017 RT Limited chrome edition and it is simply stunning, beyond cool. That said, I love my 2022 RT Sea-to-Sky. I love the color (mystery blue), the comfort, the exclusive wheels, the finish and all its features. However, I felt it lacked some visibility. I would have liked to have the lit mirrors as on yours without having to go after market. To improve being visible on the road, I added led turn signals on each front wheel cover in place of the stock reflectors. I also added mirror locks to stop the annoying vibration which blurred my rear view. And after over 15 000 miles of riding, I can honestly say that it is the motorcycle of my dreams. Cheers Coach. And that's two weeks in a row with a cameo from the effervescent Coach Vic, awesome!

Outstanding and detailed assessment of both machines. I prefer the look of the 2014-19 as I don't like the bottom black front spoiler (looks cheap to me). I really like that you can now get an RT without the big back passenger section. I just picked up a 2014 ST Limited, and for my style and needs I'm very excited about driving it next spring.

Purely on a visual basis, I like the "angry" "aggressive" look of the pre-20 models. Having said that, I truely believe that all of the Spyders are worthy, a blast to ride, and I won't ever be without one!! God Bless!

Another great video Coach. I can't speak to buying conditions in December 2023, but when I bought the Trepidation in 2021, I looked at used units and found "supply chain issues" had helped raise the prices. Used models were almost equal to new ones and still moving. I chose to wait on delivery of a new machine and watched them open the carton for the final assembly.

Awesome comparison, Coach. I’ll say I liked (not loved) the Spyder from the first time I rode my sister’s F3L. We needed a touring machine so I was only looking at RT’s, and only limiteds. What sold me was the 2020 redesign. Completely subjective, but the aesthetics of the newer design hooked me, and I started saving. That new top case is what we were looking for for sure. Good to see Coach Vic too! You guys stay safe and I’ll say it again, if you’re dreaming of that ‘23 or newer, go out and buy that motorcycle of YOUR dreams 😎 Stay safe Coach!

Let's start off with this Coach Vic I love your hairstyle looks good.. 2019 you can lock the glove box when you turn the wheel. The newer spiders their glove box doesn't block. On the newer spiders I like the dashboard. VS the old Spiders dashboard. in the new generation. I like the way you sit back On the bike and It's comfortable. and Also the running Boards. Hope in the future they will bring back the USB support. I Love playing my music that way. VS playing through the Bluetooth. And also they will figure out how we can run a lower octane gas in the new bikes So we won't have to run high test all the time. PS. Hope BRP is listening.

Don't forget that many dealers/service centers are refusing to work on 2014 and lower, saying they are "too old", limiting the resources for repairs and maintenance. I went from a 19 to a 22, and can say it's as recognizable as a switch from VHS to DVD. Love my 22 in every way. Heard a bunch of chatter about the new 24's. CanAm has again put an incomplete product out, missing passenger heated grips and the new dash has incomplete software (no Apple Carplay), to be fixed under a recall. They'll eventually get it right, but it may turn some people off realizing things are rushed to market without vetting.

I had a 2018 RTL and found the riding position didn’t give me enough room to move my legs and my right leg would cramp up after an hour and a half of riding (not good when you needed to stop) I traded it in on a 21 Sea to Sky and have been much more comfortable with the big foot boards. Granted this is also an upgrade in model so it will be more comfortable anyways but I have no cramping or other discomfort after many hours riding now

100% agree with the miss with the turn signals on the mirrors. I had a '19 F3L and the only front turn signal is on the wheels. Now, I always signal my intent to turn well in advance. Yet, 90% of the time folks will sit and watch until I turn. Meaning, they could easily make their turn legally and safe, but either did not see my blinker or are in awe of the F3L. The more front blinkers, the better IMO. I had no clue my new '23 RTL has turn signals in the headlight unit. LOL. But it's been a little chilly for riding and I'm still breaking her in. I can say for a fact, the '20+ RT passenger seat has much, much more space than the F3 models.

Started with a '15 RTL that, in my eye, was a very beautiul machine. Black and lots of chrome, especially the chrome wheels, really made it stand out. When the '20 came out everything I read commented on improved comfort, handling, stopping and wind management. So, in a fit of more money than good sense, I trotted off to my dealer and made a down payment on a Marsala red chrome RTL. Three months later it arrived. Result--a very good decision. Everything I'd read was true. I couldn't be happier. It's had a few farkles added but the absolute best mod was a stage 2 tune by Monster Fuel, done by Wick-It Performance. The best money you will ever spend on a Spyder. If you think I like the new style, you're right, but that '15 was sharper looking.

I got to ride more than a couple of hours through the Can-Am Experience on the Sea to Sky and a bit on an F3 model. Maybe it's because you own an earlier model or it's the eye of the beholder thing but those earlier ones seem butt beholder 2 me. I saw the 2023 RT Ltd in Dark Marsala Red and one of those cartoon heavenly choirs just went singing Ahhhh. My dealer was lucky enough to procure one through a neighboring dealer out of state and I paid cash. I've only had it since late June have 1400 miles on it after decades of Moto Guzzi ownership. I am a happy camper.

Great video, Coach. I bought a new 2018 RT Limited. I owned it two weeks and traded it for a used 2017 F3 Limited. The F3 has more leg room. The RT was too cramped. I have arthritis in my hips and the seating position made any more than a 3mile ride intolerable. Since then, I've sat on the 2020 design and the RT Limited is more comfortable than my F3.

CB--I have a 2016 RTL and have replaced the sway bar with a heavier one. Didn't make as much difference as I expected. The most significant difference with the new model seems to be in the electronics(radio, iPhone connection, etc.) which, I believe is an improvement. As you pointed out, mechanically, they are the same. I have no issue with the brakes--mine stops just fine. I will say, however, with well over 250k miles of two wheel riding experience, the transition to the Spyder was challenging. It took over a thousand miles to get used to it, but now, I wouldn't go back to the two wheelers( Harleys, Goldwings, Motoguzzis, etc. that I've owned). I have had a persistent problem with the cam position sensor--replaced twice and the last one is failing. Doesn't seem to effect engine operation or performance, so........The only other complaint that I have is that after riding for an hour or so, my hands both get numb. My suspicion is that it is caused by the seating position--I'm 5'8". Sitting on the 2023 model didn't seem that different , but maybe it is? My wife loves our Spyder and wouldn't go back to the two wheelers either. I figure that I'd probably have to cough up $10-12k to trade for a new Sea to Sky, and at 74 years old, I just don't know if it would be worth it. Not that many differences . I do ride pretty much year round here in Kentucky and really like the overall comfort of this machine compared to the two wheelers I've owned. Just my thoughts........

Nice video. I had a 2014 RT-S and traded it for a 2020 RT-L (which I still have). My two cents: * Handle Bars. My 2014 had the tri-bar adjustable bars which were perfect for me. The stock bars on my 2020 were not good for me. My shoulders were sore every time I rode it for more than an hour. I resolved this by installing an F3 Attitude bar on the 2020. * The Brake Pedal. I always hated the stomp-down brake pedal on the 2014. The raised pedal on the 2020 is sooo much better. It is easier and more effective. * The floor boards on the 2020 are a lot bigger than the 2014, so it makes changing positions much easier without needing highway pegs. * The Rear Storage. The 2020, removable trunk is much wider and fits helmets well. The trunk of the 2014 was deeper but narrower making helmet storage nearly impossible. * The Suspension. There is no comparison. The suspension on the 2020 is far superior - especially in turns. * Dash: The upgraded, digital dash on the 2020+ is much superior to that of the earlier models. Verdict: Same as yours, the 2020+ all the way! TIP: Put a throttle tuner on the Spyder. That turns it into an entirely new feeling machine. You're welcome.

Coach Bob, I have a 2022 Sea to Sky and previously owned a 2014 RT Limited. I agree with all that you said and the 2022 is way above the 2014. But, I do have my complaints concerning the 2022 and related models. It was a mistake from BRP to move the front signal lights from the mirrors to the front fenders, they look much better and are seen more readily up on the mirrors, a la 2024-2019 models. Additionally, the rear view mirror placement is horrible in the newer models. All I see in my rear view mirrors are my hand grips, they need to move them higher (or lower) so that a clear view of the roadway and traffic behind you is visible. One last gripe, the gear indicator on the display screen on the 2020 and newer models needs to be much bigger and more visible. I often find myself lifting my face shield just to see what gear I am in; a much larger display would help tremendously. Thanks and keep up the great videos and good work.

When I get closer to buying, I'll have to get a dealer to set one up so I can try it. I'm leaning toward the F3S or one of the base RTs at the moment. God bless, Rob

The F3 is definitely more adjustable. I believe the newer RT with the running board will work for you. Coach Vic would be 5'2" standing. When we do her pillion perspective. We will also do a rider geometry check with her as well. Hope you're doing well. 👍👍👍

This is the biggest misconception about the older 998 motors. I had a 2013 RS and had zero issues with the motor. Sure it puts out more heat. But I can tell you they are the same on power. Most people just did not want to rev the 998 motor to the 8-9k. Its a very high reving motor and I think that scared most people. It just needed a little more attention to oil levels and stuff than the 1330 does. People like the 1330 because the torque kicks in at a lower RPM, seat of the pants feel if you know what I mean.

My current long distance bike is a 2018 star venture transcontinental. It eats miles in comfort like no other bike out there. I have been looking at the new spyder rt limited just to experience something completely different as so many bikes these days are vanilla. Now the real question is do I want to shell out 30k 🤔. Btw thanks for this video, this really helps me out in decision making 👍

Hey Coach Bob, Thanks for your positive reply comment a few days back to the one I posted on your helping Newbies. I got a request of ya.....Can you find out if any of your subscribers that ride Trikes live anywhere near me? I live in Fort Scott, Kansas. Anyone within a 50 mile radius that would be willing to be a mentor would really help. I got the Drifter Endeavor back home this weekend and am now ready to learn! Help!!

1 yr into having a 2017 rt ltd..still loving every second of it. So comfortable, lots of leg room ( Im 6 feet 6 & 264lbs), 1300 engine and it goes like stink. Wife loves it that much she' s thinking in getting a spyder..so no more 3 hr ride through coffee runs for me I guess. Thanks for the vid coach, finding them really informative.
