Either these or two wheels, even trikes. I just bought my first motorcycle and I ain't driven my pickup in a couple months. I don't wanna be on anything else. I love when one of my friends calls and needs a favor lol, I love getting on my bike and going for a ride, no matter how short it may be.

Not sure what happened after I turned 45, but “fitting in” and people’s opinions feel like someone else’s game. Best way I can describe - it’s as if I’ve retired from putting up with discomfort for other people. I could walk into a grocery store wearing nothing but my underwear, and any stares I collect are from people still playing the game. It’s as if I’m totally ok with that, and I’m not going to judge them because I was there once. I think I’m the ideal Can Am Spyder rider lol

I just wanted to say that we avoided watching this video while shopping for a Spyder because we were afraid what we'd find out. We finally watched it and were pleasantly surprised what it was truly about! It literally helped us make our decision and now we're proud owners of a 2020 RT LTD. =)

All my buddies ride Harleys and I was going to buy one when I was struck with a disabling illness. I wanted a Harley trike but my friends talked me into getting a can am very soon.

I just bought one, and my girlfriend has a ryker and we love them! When I saw this video I thought ohh shit what are the problems they have! Well he tricked me EVERYTHING he said was true in a good way! And I was thinking I never bought or done anything to be excepted by other so if they don’t like or except me I could give zero fucks about what they(meaning anyone) thinks when it comes to their opinions! I get stopped by people all the time asking me about it!

I LOVED THE VIDEO...Every point you made about the Spyder was SPOT ON. I enjoy people asking about my 2018 F3 LIMITED quite the conversation piece. The good thing is that the market on motorcycles is changing rapidly with the electric motorcycle. I've had "Harley Riders" say to me "That not a Motorcycle" when I am riding with my husband who rides a H-D, I usually respond with smile on my face and unbothered. Yep you're correct, it's a TRIKE" haven't you heard the phrase "THREE OF A KIND ALWAYS BEAT A PAIR"😃😃 #ridefree #ridesafe #havefundoingit💯🏍

I rode a Ryker to a small town in Texas. It drew attention like a biplane in 1920.

Me and my husband bought a 2021 RT Limited today! Had Harley’s in the past. Me with back surgery and him two knee replacements, we still wanted to get out on a bike. Absolutely love the Spyder! So easy to ride! So now my husband wants a Ryker too! Because we both love to be in the front seat😂 Awesome purchase! Thanks coach, you helped us make this great decision! We paid 28,900 out the door. Thought about the S2S but decided this was a more reasonable value and we can add what we want. So easy to ride! Just awesome! Got the red metallic a beautiful bike.

I am trading in my Harley trike for a 2021 RT

Been a biker 20 years. Sick of Harleys, sick of the faux biker lifestyle. Just want to ride to impress myself. Great video. Can't wait to trade my HD in for a Cam Am.

I put just about 10K on a used 2013 RT and then last year traded it for a 2020 Ryker 900 (not Rally). Now that I have a good driver's backrest it is ever bit as comfortable as the RT was and much more fun! I'm 70 by the way. I rode on two until my balance issues started to bother me.

I love your point about the long distance riding. I don't have a Spyder (yet) but, I have had many Harley's and switched over to a Goldwing Trike when I was 51 for a while. Mainly because I'm short and my wife decided she enjoyed riding 2 up later than riding her own. I felt more at ease on 3. In 2013 we rode from Dallas to Sturgis, SD. We met up with the rest of our group and stopped in McCook, NE. (about a 500 mile day with stops). My wife and I were fine. Not tired at all. My buddy's were pretty beat. Being on 3 is very relaxing to me.

Audio sounds great, I have been following for a good while now and love your content. Thank You for this channel and being such a good person.

Love those 10 reasons Coach Bob! They’re all spot on, even #9, it does take up a large space in garage or basement. The GoPro and new mic setup looked and sounded great. I’m with you on remembering stronger days, endurance wise. I ride lots of the same roads on the Spyder that I used to bicycle on, including the BRP. Hard to relate how I used to do all those rides, with major climbing. They were great training for the century rides. What an adrenaline rush! I still ride my bicycle daily, but nowhere close to that level. My son is moving to Florida Tuesday from Charlotte, NC. He’ll be in Cape Coral though, quite a distance from you guys. Really enjoyed the video!!

Two wheels is perfectly fine with a backrest and a good seat. And may I highly recommend that the three-wheelers use the backrest as well. What a difference!

#7 - My wife has refused to ryde on my Spyder RTS. This is my second one and I still cannot get her to get on for even a short ryde. Had a 2011 RTS and now have a 2016 RTS. Only one time did she consent to sit in the passenger seat when parked. No amount of coaxing has worked. Got my first at 64 and am now 73. She is 10 months younger than me and we will be married 46 years next month.

I am 59 years old and have 5 years on my RTS 2015 with 55k on it. When I bought my RTS, I did not tell my wife and just rode up and said "Look what I bought honey". She did not speak to me for 6 months and did not cook for me either (couch was hard during that time). After about 9 months she finally asked with me for a ride. So, I took her on a "non aggressive" ride so she do not freak out. She loved it and started touring riding with me. I bought her gear and make it feel like she is an owner of the bike too. So, give it time. She will come around.

My wife will not ride with me due to health, but so is okay with me riding. It would be nice if she could though.

I watched your video before buying my Spyder and now, after a week of having and riding it, i totally find myself in 8 of these 10 things, you are so right. I mean, even at the very first ride people were pointing fingers on me like: "What the heck is that? Hey man, look at that guy's ride!". To my surprise the most curios are old people, followed by the kids and then the women. Mine is a F3T and i think is the same colour like yours, white with black stripes. Why I love my Can-Am Spyder. and I can give you seven states is the reason why I ride my Can-Am spider. Cuz I'm never tired after riding 2 hours or 5 hours of riding. PS. I use to ride a Harley Davidson it was a fat boy. I don't regret. Switching from two wheels to three wheels.😊

Great video Beautiful country-side. I'm 65 and want to buy a Spyder. I went for my first motorcycle ride this summer and I am hooked. But, I had an accident while working for the Calgary Olympics and had back surgery and being on a regular bike just gets too difficult. Always been adventurous though flying sail planes and paraglider and crewing hot air balloons - this is just a beautiful looking ride. I'm in Alberta Canada and can't wait to ride the Rockies. Thanks for this! Everything I see has convinced me I am not saving my shackles for nothing LOL.

I have owned and ridden a canam Spyder since 2008 when they came out now i have a 2008 GS 2014 ST and a 2019 Ryker and love them!

My wife and I test rode one several years ago at a bike rally. Fell in love with them then. We bought one used 2016 this week. She can ride it by herself. My back is in pretty bad shape have had several surgeries. One day I won't be able to ride my main ride, 2015 Indian Roadmaster. Hopefully still be able to ride this Can Am. The suspension is really great on these machines. Safer for my wife to ride by herself once she learns a little more than a standard m/cycle. Plus one big safety issue is things in the road you don't want to run over you have to really dodge it, or stop.

Great video and the sounded wonderful.

Had my 2013 RT SE5 for about a year now….love it more now than I did on day 1. Highly recommended a battery tender even when garage kept in the Winter time. Batteries are always up for a ride!! Heated grips are amazing even on low they keep you nice and warm! Couldn’t be happier with my Spyder!

Yeah, I have a harley. Less than 9000 miles on it. Got hurt in the Army then had a stroke. Loss the full use of my left hand. I cant squeeze a clutch. TBI, not as good strength and balance any more. I'm looking at a spyder F3. My old team mates have harleys. They said they don't care what I ride as long as I ride with them. That's a real brotherhood, baby

Sent this video to my t wheeled friends , One just bought a new Harley Poor thing. I am going out and buying one , I have rode them and they are the best bike in my opinion since I rode 2 wheels and sold it.

I've never heard a Top 10 Reasons "Not" to or "Should Never" like this. It's Brilliant! Except for the Nerd perception, It's like a Top 10 reasons you should never eat too much, you'll feel full, you'll feel good, you'll feel satisfied, you won't feel hungry, you'll say Mmmm mmm that was good, etc. LOL! I don't know why you entitled this as reasons not to buy a spyder but these are the absolute reasons why you should buy one. I had A Harley and A Goldwing before but my spyder is the object of attention on bike night and is photographed and filmed more than my two wheels were. A lot of my friends have either converted over to a spyder or added a spyder to their arsenal of bikes. This was my best investment.

I have seen many over the years. It can get real scary. Oddly enough I hit one in my car about a month ago. I question if I might’ve been able to avoid it on the bike or Spyder. They are definitely a very real and scary hazard. So far... so good. 👍👍👍😎😎😎

It’s getting very dangerous just driving a car let alone a bike with this new generation of cell phone users not paying attention and this is much safer than two wheels that I can guarantee you! And if you’re wondering why this guy is so happy? Well I’m not wondering I KNOW because I bought one and I know the same joy!!!

Seems just as dangerous. Get hit from behind and the spousal unit could get killed. Yesterday I saw part of a burned up vehicle that was embedded into the back of a semi-trailer. I don't know...

Regarding reasons 3&4, I had a 86 Yamaha Venture that my wife and I spent several 13 hour days on long trips and we were not tired at all. And we didn't have to spend any money on a lot of accessories either. Sure do miss that bike. I can't handle that big of a bike now thanks to cancer treatment and other health problems so the Spyder is a good idea.

I have a 2013 Spyder RS. I really wish I had buttons to turn off traction control and all that stuff. It really hinders my rides sometimes.

My reason for not buying a spyder was no service dealer close. Thats why I bought HD with side car. Oh and the sidecars are very wheel chair friendly. Keep videos coming really enjoy them

Thanks for sharing.. I love the HD's..I rode several over a 20 year period. Yeah.. the dealer network is a real problem. I was really nervous when we were out in the middle of nowhere and there were no dealers within 200 miles. Great to hear from you!!!👍👍

With all due respect, Coach Bob, these aren't reasons to NOT buy a Spyder RT - They are reasons why the roadster makes you want to ride it, use it, rack up the miles. They are reasons TO GO OUT AND BUY ONE. :)

I use to have a street bike and dirt. Sold out got married. Now I am wanting to rejoin friends who road trip and trialor some for long distance. My wife has not done much of any bike riding to speck of. But I do like what you are saying about reconnecting during these times. Opinoin

A Can Am Spyder is NOT a motorcycle. Spyder means its a 2 place roadster or convertible. As in Ferrari Spyder or Alfa Romeo Spyder. My wife and I did one 11,000 mile trip on a RT with the "Fantastic factory trailer". People everywhere understood and loved the rig. Many saying they wished they were going with. I rode motorcycles for 50 years and still ride sport bikes. But the RT is just outright traveling fun. Never have to put a kickstand down stopped in LA traffic when its 90 degrees out👍.

I bought a used one and loved it. I had problems with the neighbors cat puncturing the seat. I put an upside down car floor mat on the seat and stopped that problem. I saw it jump up on all those spikes and went flying. It never did it again.

Funny story of my own... I drive a Ryker and my wife and I pull up to a pizza joint. Park next to a really nice Harley trike. I’m feeling a bit self conscious with the Harley guy sort of giving me discontented looks. Some other guys walks right up ti me, completely bypasses the Harley and says to me “hey that’s a really nice bike!!!” Harley guy just blinks 😅. So yeah the tide is turning a bit. enjoy what you ride regardless of Harley, Spyder, Ryker whatever! Be safe 😉

I have a 2017 Daytona F3 custom! Best thing about these spyders are the two wheels in the front instead of traditional trike in the rear. It gives you more stability in the turns and maneuvers like a sports car.

I follow you pretty regularly of late, but couldn't help but bite on the title of this old video. I was welling up the resentment (2-1/2 year ryder), but you did very, very well. I've felt little resentment from "bikers" in my time, as their lips are curling from trying to pass me on the highway. We ride with some mixed groups and it is very satisfying when we're all jockeying for a parking space. Ha..! Cruising a scenic drive it always seems necessary for bikes to "scream" past. Come on, enjoy the scenery! The bottom line always comes down to your most important point for us: Companionship. Wifey and I ryde everywhere together! I have A Ryker I've got to sell now because, like your motorcycles, only I can ride it. I love it, I thought it was something we could do together, but she is happy to ryde literally thousands of miles hugging me. We are heading your way this year from Las Vegas because it will be our/my bucket-list trip. She may never remember it. but I will. I have a brother in Melbourne, but we will hook up with you somehow on the trip. Your trip last year really inspired me! I don't need sand in my toes, but there will be many stickers on the inside of our trailer! Keep up the mission, Brother, and be safe...

All legitimate reasons to not buy a Spyder, or any motorcycle. By the way, the sound comes in clearly even when the visor is down, good addition Bob. Thanks for the humor. Reason #11. both wheels are up front.

I’m normally 32-34 mpg. That is running premium/93 octane. Thanks for watching. We are glad you’re here!

I was a little worried that Coach Bob had fallen off his Can-Am when I read the title of the video, it the end though these were mostly reasons why to buy this machine lol.

Great topic the title got my attention like WHAT IS COACH ABOUT TO SAY 🤔👀👀 but every thing you said is 💯 percent true I have a Indian Chieftain and my wife have a Spyder RT limited the Spyder is the vehicle of choice now good video keep them coming 👍🇺🇸

@@ohiohummer yeah man after riding that Indian all day I be so tired legs and arms and hips but can am takes away a lot of the work. I'm waiting for the prices to drop down in February on the 2020 then I'm getting me 1 but I'm keeping the Indian so I can still ride with the boys congratulations on the new bike

I have a 2011 RS-Se5 and I tell people it is a love hate relationship... Lately I HATE my spyder. To be fair In Winnipeg MB Canada the 5-6 months I can ride. The streets are absolute garbage condition. The on reason I want it gone (have a new VW trike project almost finished) is it is WAY to "Delicate". The parts on the spyders are of low to mid quality.. In the last month I broke the front fender supports on both the left and the right, scratched the inside of both rims. Today I just lost my license plate for the 3rd time since the flimsy rear fender supports broke for the second time. I finally removed the rear fender . Hate having to remove the side panel and rub the plastic against each other to check the oil on a $20 000 + machine. Agree with the wanting to add stuff. I made my own backrest and highway pegs. Added cup holder and Recovered the seat. I had the pipes ceramic coated. I run car type tires and the handling is SO MUCH better than the garbage Kendas that mine had. But at the moment I would be very interested in parting ways with that pain in my ass!

Fine with visor up. Cuts a little noise with it down, some of the high pitches. Make it easy on you. Sound is just fine either way..

We also have a 2019 RT. Have you installed the Baja Rons Sway bar yet? If you haven't, perhaps you'd consider doing so. I installed one today on our 2019 RT and it COMPLETELY changed the handling characteristics to more flat in the corners and more sure footed. I would highly recommend this mod especially if carrying a passenger. As long as your alignment is solid, you'll be glad you made the effort to install it.
