@@CountryMan73436 hello again. It’s been 3 weeks now and it started sticking again. I don’t think I got the lubricant far enough down the cable. I released it in a parking lot and in turn lost the spring 🤦🏼‍♀️ Do you know what size that spring is?

I am convinced its the battery which is a 300 Cranking amp and should be replaced with a 330 Cranking amp battery I changed my 2020 spyder battery and had no more issues

We were selling our can-am Spyder and after the guy left that was interested in it , we went to put it back in the garage and the parking break wouldn’t release. We were devastated. I googled the symptom and your video appeared. My husband and I watched your video and sadly we’re not certain that it would fix our problem. But we did it. We followed your video and it worked! You saved the day for us and we are grateful! Thank you for taking the time to help us!

I've fixed many that way.... They do make Cable Lube Spray, but I haven't found any in the Small 3oz Cans you can get WD-40 in. I keep one in "My Parking Brake Release Kit."

Don't come in hot and apply the parking break. Stop give it a second then engage the parking break, doing that I have never had the parking break lock up in the years I have been riding after learning about that trick.

Sounds like you need to find the root cause. You also should lube the entire. Able, not just the part sticking out. I flush my cables completely on my motorcycle, nit just the exposed end. It als9 seems k Ike a simple boot over the exposed cable would resolve the issue if it were just road dirt and debris...

I have fixed many this way... And I remind them to do a little Preventative Maintenance from time to time... Better than Burning Up the Brake Motor!

@@broderp I’ve had mine 6 years now… I’ve only had the Stuck Parking Brake 1 Time in the 2nd Year I had it… It’s up to Can-Am to determine the Root Cause… I Just provide “The Remedy” to “Get Riders Moving Again…” Plus, It will save them from Burning Up the Parking Brake Release Motor…

@@understandingunderstanding4880 That will release it yes… But I pull the cable on up to where I can spray lube on it… Release, Set, Release, Repeat… WD-40 will temporarily help, but oil is better… I used to lube my Motorcycle Cables every year…

@CountryMan73436 it the battery that causes the break issue instead of a 300 Cranking amp it should be 330 Cranking amp....never had parking break again

BUT! WD-40 is not a lubricant. Best way to lube the cable is to slip it into a funnel and tape it up then with the cable inside the funnel pour oil into the funnel enough to cover the end of the cable and operate the cable a bunch of times. now you have lubed a cable. or spray a lubricant on the cable like you were doing with the WD-40.

Most of the problem with the PB is the motor fails and needs replacing. Sometimes it’s the battery that is. It good enough to power the PB motor.

I've fixed more that a dozen or so of these... Manually release and lube the cable... So far none of them have had to replace the PB Motor. Fixed one in the Parking Lot at a Dealer one time. The Service Writer had me show them exactly what I did.

@@CountryMan73436 Your video was great and got my parking brake free and home, a big plus. I went out this morning and sprayed it but I'm only getting an inch variation between brake locked and unlocked where it looks like you're getting two to three inches. The battery is fairly new, put it in last year, and I've put it on trickle charge planning to check it tomorrow. Any suggestions?
