Can a Simple Piece of Paper Change the Way We Eat? Kavita Shukla at TEDxManhattan
www.tedxmanhattan.org/2012talks
Kavita M. Shukla is the Inventor and Founder/CEO of Fenugreen (www.fenugreen.com), a pioneer in the movement towards sustainable, active, natural food packaging. Fenugreen is addressing the massive, yet often overlooked global challenge of food spoilage (25% of the world's harvest is lost to spoilage each year) with its simple and all-natural FreshPaper innovation. By keeping food fresher from "farm to fork" in a sustainable way, while reducing transportation, inventory and energy costs, Fenugreen's FreshPaper holds the potential to revolutionize the food economy. Kavita holds two patents, with four pending and has received several international honors for her potential as an inventor-entrepreneur, including recognition from the Lemelson-MIT Foundation, the Cartier Women's Initiative, the Davidson Institute, the Swiss Consulate, and the French Ministry for Foreign Affairs. She has also been inducted into the National Gallery for America's Young Inventors. In 2011, Fenugreen was recognized as one of the most innovative young companies in the world as Grand Prize winner of the Kauffman Foundation's Startup Open competition. Kavita holds a BA from Harvard University.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know! We looked into it, & unfortunately it seems they tried to use it in air-tight containers (not the intended use), but we were glad to see that they acknowledged that FreshPaper prevented mold in open air berry containers;) We're disappointed they didn't take the time to learn about FreshPaper/how to use it, but thanks to the support of our incredible users, we're confident that this won't keep us from getting FreshPaper to food banks & farmers in need.
Hi James - Thanks for your question. FreshPaper can be used in or out of the fridge! (It was originally designed for use in areas without refrigeration, but many users also place sheets in fridge drawers/shelves and have reported that produce in the fridge with FreshPaper stays fresh for 2-4x longer!)
Thanks so much for your support - it means a lot to us!
Thanks for your comment! This is one of our primary goals for the next version:) Stay tuned!
This is a great idea!! I hope this takes off! I love that it's biodegradable too. The only problem I can think of is that if it was made from paper, wouldn't that be hurting tree supplies? Still awesome though. If I see some around, I'll pick some up for my household :)
what about giving out the recipe so people can make it at home? Think about it
There's a reason it's called a 'business' and not 'charity'. Products are made to be sold. It's up to the prospective customer to make the decision as to whether or not this is something that adds value to their life and dollar. You should learn to never criticise the doer. At least she's made a business model designed to give back to people in need. You should think on that before you criticise.
Thanks for your support!!
Great simple product that will change the world and ways we keep our food fresh...
Thanks for your support - it means a lot to us!
We're so excited to hear that you've enjoyed using FreshPaper - Thanks for your support!!
keep up the good work!
awesome
Works great! Get some
Nice! I'll have to do just that then! Thanks :)
The world would be far better off if more people found one solution to a problem than 100 problems to a solution.
So we don't really need refrigerator after all?
Great idea. Let me know when this product will be available in Jamaica! :)
I have noticed that a lot of people bring in empirical knowledge to make fast money. The talks given here sound good because they are rote learned and memorized. Two more min of normal conversation with Ms shukla you will know this is not genius or even close.I have high regard for chinese indian cultures but there are many thugs l who bring in old knowledge package it to make some quick money.THIS IS NOT NEGATIVE BUT AN EYE OPENER AND FREE SPEECH
Shut up and take my money !
Thanks so much for all of your support & encouragement...it means a lot to us! If you'd like to learn more about FreshPaper, check out our website: fenugreen. com
I bought this and did my own home experiment and it made no difference. The fruits and veggies both had no difference. Selling crockpot!!
With this technology Gmo products got another critical strike:)Few more things like this and they can be executed.
love the idea but will have a hard time getting it, grocers wont be happy about it
(For those of you who are wondering what has happened since this TEDx Talk took our idea to places we could never have imagined... check out this timeline :) All thanks to your support: fenugreen. com/#!timeline/c1c33 To stay in touch, please follow us on twitter (@fenugreen) or facebook (facebook. com/fenugreen)!
Okay so this paper along with UV treating and Plasma washing, My veggies should stay fresh for half a year if not longer.
Do you work for the company?
Sir I challenge this on my soul. People want to make fast money. Human greed and no talent. Only arrogance, show off and manipulation. Someone is silencing people who talk about this product. Wow something is smelling Sir. These people need to be watched
2021 gang?
Did you put to test what this lady is selling?. The moment i gave my opinion. Someone has tried to get into my account and I get harrassing emails. I really wonder why these people are so hostile. Obviously they have something big to hide
The only problem I see is that the paper is bleached white.
It may not be genius or even close .. but is it true ?? .. the true test is "does it work" ??
It would be more helpful if you just shared the recipe so we could make our own paper. I can't afford $10 a month and I bet I'm not the only one.
