IMO 100% yes. With 5 less workers Serral would have no chance to defend a proxy rack e.g. Every early agression would just kill him. So unless there is a "10 min no rush" rule applied, it won't even be close.

thing is zerg it's easier to drone up. So I think, if uthermal went zerg, he'd fair better.

yeah, this makes me wish for Marc to cast some games like Lowko does. their collab alongside Harstem would be the best though. The Dutch Trio.

I don't get why players hardly ever play to the challenge. The only way they beat you is with an early attack. Plan an all in timing attack for like 4-6mins. Waiting forever when the handicap is literally only at the start of the game just hands over time for you to catch up.

I disagree. Sure they can sometimes play to the challenge, but this challenge isn't only a boost to the early game. It neuters any and all early aggression Thermal can do and slows his economy a lot. His enemy can go full turbo greed, swing up to 4 bases, and win while still having enough eco for harassment. One thing I do think that would be playing to the challenge though that I think more people should do is investing in things that trade your resources for "micro", such as static defense. Imagine if in game 3, instead of losing 30+ workers to banshees and reapers and widow mines, the enemy protoss just built one Photon Cannon in each mineral line.

Exactly. If the enemy has a horrible early-game because of less workers, you need to do a fast timing attack. In the first 2,3 minutes, the pro player can do almost nothing to close the lead you have - because as long as you build your first few structures on time there is just nothing you can do wrong. But as soon a second base comes in, stuff tends to go wrong. Forgetting worker production, supply blocks... So every second that goes by, the lead you have is decreasing. At something like 5 minutes, you have the biggest advantage you'll ever have in a challenge like this. After that it is all going downhill. Your lead will decrease every second from then on, because the superior skill will pay off, superior macro, superior micro...

You were cooked when he found it. I think it was the right strat to try. Even if you bailed on it immediately, the result would have been the same.

@@user-fe1nr3ws1z zerg fr is the most eco/early timing dependent race in the game. If you dont have queens out by certain times you can die. If you dont have ling speed -- die. if your eco is too small -- die. So i really think Uthermal would have to go 300 iq mode

i just tryed some games in solo since years and not just you but platin+ players would probably stomp me with 0 workers and just 50 minerals xD

Rather then killing your scvs at the start how about not building new 1s until your orbital finishes it times out pretty close
