My man butchered Longview, come on! Seven Nation Army sounded great on guitar since it is actually a pitch shifted guitar in the original.

The tones were completely different. What I did note was that the pitch shifted guitar actually reminded me more of an upright bass, so if I was going for that sound based on these side by sides, I'd pick the guitar. Otherwise, the bass has it. Note: I am biased, but do play both instruments, I just started on bass and still prefer to write with it.

@@JakesRebellion I'd love to hear that. I've often thought about that as a solution for really low bass tunings, rather than finding a longer scale instrument.

They’re both good for different reasons but very obviously not the same.

They sound completely different, on some songs guitar suonds better, on other ones bass sounds a lot better. I personally think bass always sounds better than pitch shifted guitar (if well played, obviously) but in my opinion you can use whatever you want.

Well said man, I agree some songs sounded better on bass than pitch shifted guitar and vise versa in this example but overall I would grab a bass to record for a song for sure 🤙🏻✊🏻

They were both ran directly to the computer with a bass amp simulator in the DAW. Volume differences was another big factor that needed to be accounted for 👍🏻

I can agree that it sounds out of tune on Feel Good Inc but the other songs sound right to me, especially Longview and seven nation army 🤙🏻
