11:10 It's intentionally not logging you in until you press Multiplayer, to reduce load on the servers. And a little correction on the team sizes. The 50 players 25v25 you're talking about was a special occasion event. Regular matches cap at 16 players. We have even done 30v30 recently'ish Lobby UI is pending a total replacement, and the end graphs is straight up engine vanilla UI element that never got replaced in BAR. Cool review though. :)

@@easilydistractedgames Well, there is a hidden setting to do that, but only admins are allowed to use it. Part of it is the design decision, but servers also get quite unstable at certain player counts, sometimes even making the whole master server die out. So, yea, these huge games do happen sometimes, but there's always an admin sitting there making sure everything goes smoothly. Regular games are capped at 8v8. :)

One of the best RTS games I've ever played. I find it a blast to hop in 8v8 matches with a buddy of mine and work on a lane together. The counterplay options are extensive, so reading your opponent and coming up with efficient or clever counters can be extremely satisfying! Great review! BAR needs the exposure imo

There's something that I'm going to miss about having only a couple hundred players on at a time. You unintentionally run into the same people on a regular basis. Great video. It's nice to see BAR getting the attention it deserves.

Thanks! Yeah I prefer close-knit communities like BAR, feels more like a group of friends. Going onto Steam risks tons of cheaters and people trying to ruin it for everyone. The people I've played with so far have been super friendly, but maybe it's just because I'm still new.

I havent enjoyed an RTS since maybe AoE or Mythology. BAR finally caught my attention about a year ago and its just so good.

Bar and supreme commander share a similar predecessor in total annihilation. Bar is closer to TA than SC though most of BARs units are direct clones of TA units
