1 million punch man: near zero cooldown on the blast shower, as many bands you can find, the quick punch, and loads of attack speed means that punching through an enemy will have the bands proc every frame which is loads of fun. Recommended on command runs tho.

what a lot of people undervalue in this game is the first time experience: discovering all the items one by one, finding secrets instead of getting them told to you or searching them online, the "training arc" up to the final boss and then the dlc's secret final boss feels amazing if you don't have stuff spoiled for yourself.

Yeah it's like that with most rougelikes, nothing really beats that first time experience. Not knowing what does what and find out on your own.

Holy crap it’s the pipeyard red centipede from hit game Rain World: Downpour!

I always find myself coming back to RoR2 at least 50 hours a year. Still haven't unlocked everything. That damn prismatic trials achievement with Mercenary is just impossible

I tried it a few times, but I wasn't so skilled with him so eventually I gave up. There's a guy on KZread who does it like every day, it's crazy.

There is a youruber who does a walktgrough of every single trial that appears to get that achievement. I think hes called crabbar or something

My favorite part of RoR2 was taking my rogue indoor plant to god status, making those bosses go pop

My favourite run I did in risk of rain 2 was ‘local poison dog commits arson, kills evil Neil Armstrong and blows up the moon, leaves.’

I think it's nice that it gives you the option of playing on easy, but yeah, it still ramps up the difficulty later on.

@@easilydistractedgamesThere are 2 main parts to it, one is that enemies actually scale faster the faster you go. Moving to a new stage increases difficulty and difficulty scaling by 15%, multiplicative with previous stages so difficulty gets exponentially higher the more stages you complete The other is how items scale. Disputed Origin has a good video on this called "How to deal more damage - Risk of Rain 2" but basically each additional damage source multiplies every other damage source. You have to be extremely unlucky to fall behind enemy scaling and even if you do, you're still better off fully looting the stages instead of rushing because of the first reason and also because just one good stage can be enough to let you catch up If you want to see how powerful playing that way can be, check out Raydans, he got a 51 win streak a while back and he usually takes like 10 minutes per stage

That's very interesting! I remember watching tons of Woolies videos and either him or someone else said each level should take you 3-4 minutes. So I would try to get 3-5 items on each stage. Will definitely try this out from now on, thanks!

The music in this game is goated cant understand why someone would listen to something else while playing

ikr??? It conveys the atmosphere so well whilst being a motivator to move on to the next stage, motivator to stay in the teleporter zone, all whilst being absolutely fire. Up there in my favorite soundtracks of all time, maybe even THE favorite.

didnt watch cause own already but if not mentioned is also one of the best VR games though its dedicated full vr mod with motion controls for each character

@@easilydistractedgames gameplay wise its mostly exactly the same except like you can actually dual wield with the first character and shoot behind you with the archer one. i dont get motion sick on it. have only gotten sick on some driving games. its the only way i play ror2 now. gpu starts to struggle when op but by then the destruction is pretty much automated. i dont play melee characters so i dont know how those work. bandit is my go to vr character

Only played this game once and it was not my favorite but after watching this video I'll give it another "shot". Maybe while listening to some "filthy dnb"😅

My lower class friends kept telling me to play this game. Kept insisting that it was an amazing game. I never listened to them because I believed myself to have better taste than them. After seeing this video, I realise how I have wronged them.

good game, better with friends imo but after you figure it out, runs kinda feel samey and you end up fishing for the same items every run. some items are dog tier useless, and some are necessary (esp if you're eclipse grinding) so a LOT of your success boils down to flat rng. get a scrapper and a good printer? gtz, run won. no good printer and bad chest items? damn, run lost i wouldnt recommend it if you're just a solo player, but its god tier game with a full party for sure, theres just better roguelikes out there for solo 100%

Yeah agreed, but often I'd play alone, it's why I made the review as it was the first I played between reviews, whereas other rougelikes I didn't. But yes, that RNG does play a big role, especially in Eclipse runs.

RNG certainly affects how easy the run is, but you can absolutely win every run regardless

@@a_cats yeah, I saw an image rating rougelikes by RNG/skill, and RoR2 was placed all the way to the RNG side. But I didn't really agree with that, as people can finish a run without getting any items.

​@@elleeVeeFor sure you can, at least other than those few times where a blazing beetle kills you in your spawning animation on acrid lol The best players I'm aware of are Raydans and Race, Raydans had a 51 win streak on eclipse 8 rotating through all the survivors (without using lunar items or looping), Race is hard to compare since he uses mods but without the harder mithrix mod I bet he'd have an even higher win rate. Even the times these people lose, they admit it's due to them making a mistake
