You are building WRONG UNITS

Ойындар

This is a Mechabellum Chaff guide
And in this Mechabellum beginner guide we are taking a closer look at the chaff units in Mechabellum; fang and crawler. We are going over some rules of thumb that you can follow to rise up in the ranks in Mechabellum.
Although this Video is aimed at lower rank players, I see people doing these mistakes all the time also in high level gameplay.

I really like these kinds of guides, it's extremely helpful having things like this explained thoroughly. Would love to see a unit comp video - like what units synergize well together and make trouble for the opponent/basic strategies to have in mind to support your own build rather than just countering, etc

Great guide. I think many people will find it very informative. I've been watching some lower MMR games and chaff is typicaly the area they could improve on the most :)

Yes. Also good players build wrong chaff often. And even in like 1700 mmr people just won't buy enough chaff. So while this guide is done with lower players in mind, everyone should think twice before deploying.

Absolutely great video! Looking forward to the more videos like this, I'm at about 1100 MMR and found this video pretty darn useful and with this information I understand why you favor starting combos with crawlers and fang. I did build CHAFF, but not nearly enough. And the key reasoning for me is that the remaining carry units level faster and I can then better equip and protect them with items.

very good guide will definitely help newer players, there are niche situations though in which sometimes its better to have less chaff, such as a vulcan vs vulcan boards, in which the player with the most crawlers will often allow opponents vulcan to reach lvl 2 first. and stay ahead because of that. Also in the event that opponent gets para item i can imagine selling chaff on 1 side being beneficial.

I wish you explained why exactly these units are performing better instead of just telling that they are. Fangs have range - so they can deal some damage without connecting to the enemy. They are also slower than crawlers, so they are more vulnurable to something like stormcallers and mustangs, who outrange them, but are much better suited for defence. Fangs have more HP and have a shield tech that complely nullifies any attack once in case of overkill, making them much more valuable as a chaff, but crawlers can replicate, creating more and more of them - a case of quality vs quantity. I'd also like to like to hear your thoughts about wasps and subsidized mustangs as chaff Edit: I'm looking at the stats on video and I can't belive my eyes. I always though fangs had more HP than crawlers, but the reverse is true?

Can you please make a video on how to sucessfully defend against wraith aggro? I mean i get the gist of it, but i often end up almost killing the enemy and then there is this breaking point where everything just evaporates, usually when artillary array comes out.

  • @SurreyEZ

I don't understand it 100% myself so I'm not yet comfortable making it just yet. But in the meantime, build 1 vulcan (or 2x HE mustangs) and 1 melting point and A LOT of shielded fangs. If they block your chaff clear with armored sledges or balls you need vulcan damage tech or multibeam melters

Chaff is a very underrated type of unit, this is why you see people with high mmr with chaff problems, they probably think building a good chaff board is a waste of money "why build this weak unit when i can build unit with bigger stats?".
