I can't wait to get it running properly. 😎 Thanks Richard.
lol derrick be proud😂 hayyattzzz
So on mine I swapped my bottom end for one that wasn't cracked on the case but still had a good crank and good transmission. I used my top end, flywheel, points plate and setup, new gaskets for top end, and just slapped it on my frame and now i put my hand over the carb and i can't feel the motor trying to suck any gas. Honestly have no idea what could be the issue because my other bottom end leaked oil yet still ran okayish. really just need an idea on this I haven't really worked on two strokes at all. I don't think a crank seal would cause this issue and i'm really just stumped. Amazing spark and compression btw. I may make a video/take some photos to really give an idea of what my issue could be
Interesting video Baz. I restored my 1972 DT3 250 Enduro a few years ago. If you take the main bearings to your local bearing supplier, they will sort you out. Remember to replace the crank seals as well. Yambits may be able to supply parts, you need sprockets!

I think in this case it might be more exciting to have the possibility of failure when taken on a 500 mile budget tour of scotland. 😉
I had a 73 Yamaha 250 Enduro.
Even Derek from VGG would have bought a base gasket, he’d have hooked his peepers on the old one and gone right ahead and ordered a new one, he’d have definitely pretended he’d not heard the main bearings though…. Keep up the good work buddy….

Unfortunately we don't have an auto zone or harbor freight here in the UK. Not so much as a place a guy can pick up a sparkalator or charging whirler for this old rig. So a guy did the right thing and made his own. 😁
that should have a tail pipe on it held on by 2 10mm nuts slides in to the exhaust i had 7 of them bikes from the dt 100 /125/175/250 and a 50cc and dont for get the TY`s same engine more of less
Really good bike, its funny you trying to start it and kicking it for a while and your carb choke is on. 😂😂
I had a 78 t reg ke100 I snapped a ring putting the cylinder on the piston it still ran but power was well down. Lol got 50quid tho 4 it in 87.

So easy to do., 😢
Jet setter o ring is probably gone or in terrible shape.
you've really got a problem if you have exhaust blowing from a leaking base gasket as there is no exhaust behind the base gasket

This is true but exhaust gases can be drawn back into the crank case if there's a blockage in the exhaust.
I'd invest in a cheap leakdown kit myself. Made one for about £15 What carb did you put on it ?

We put a Chinese £30 carb on and it ran absolutely perfectly. 🤣

@@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport I've been looking at the Nibbi ones that are around 80 quid and Chinese but look really nicely made , I think the jets may be the downfall of them though.

@@topfuelteddy I agree but for £30 it was worth a go. Plus all the original jets fit in the new carb. 😁
The muffler gets plugged with carbon and what I do is burn it out with some gas.
😂😂😂
Can't see why any bike can not do 500 miles

Let's hope so. This one has been abused a little. 🤣
