Not sure about 50 but my 9 yr old shot his first gobbler last spring with his stevens 301 .410 shooting Herters #9 tss and he mowed that tom at 46 steps. I made him take that shot because there were 3 toms and 7 jakes and those Jake's was all over us and about to bust our position. Plus I've done plenty of pre- season testing and knew the gun/choke combo would hold a good pattern at that range.
40 and 50 yards all day. Most of my birds are inside of 30 yards due to thick swamp terrain. I love the 301 Turkey cause it’s so light to carry all day.
Nice review and test I just got a Steven 301 410 last year unreal what a 410 can do now with tss I shoot 1oz viper 10s throws a awesome pattern just with stalk choke out to 40 it would definitely do it at 50 to but nice test
