You mean particleboard. Plywood is simply cheap wood. Particleboard is pressed sawdust, etc... Can't make plywood with a press because plywood has actual grain and was a solid piece of a tree, however flimsy and sickly of a tree, it had a structure. Particleboard is the IKEA guff, so there is simply naming convention misunderstanding here.

Try using the press on cork, a reason it’s used in wine bottles is because it’s an interesting material where when you push down on it, it becomes thinner instead of wider making it great for pressing into bottles. What happens if it is pressed behind that?

  • @WuKingdom1

Hey guys, I learned something recently thanks to a recent video on Vertasium's channel. When making concrete, silica is added to help bond rock with a cement mixture. So maybe if you added more silica to this experiment, you might get something more solid. Also, petrified wood, which is really rock and minerals, is created from an ancient tree being encased and buried underground. As the wood decays and rots, and over millions of years, the decaying wood slowly gets washed away and replaced by minerals carried there from rainwater. This is why every piece of petrified wood is different. In short, compressing wood to attempt to make rock was never going to work without adding minerals of some kind lol. Still a fun video. Keep up the hard work.

You turned some sticks into the fuel briquette. not bad. but it would be better to make a really solid briquette out of sawdust. Of course, many existing presses do this regularly, but I wonder how much pressure is needed to make its density close to a rock, not just oak (750 kg/m³). I guess 100t press would not be enough.
