Fix oil pump problem. Replace cam and lifters and breather. Ride it. Put money away for a complete rebuild.

Yup. I see a rebuild in Max's future. If I was in your position, Ornery, & had the money, thats what I'd do. But don't spoil it, we're having fun watching all this unfold.

Ok now is the time too decide on a full rebuild! If you don't do it now it can and usually will cost more too do it later! Now I know money is a major concern !! But if you don't pay now you could lose the whole motor! With what i have seen so far .... YANK IT OUT AND TEAR IT DOWN . .... But that is me!!!

Looking like your digging in the right direction I unfortunately have allmsot the same problems to sort out with mine I sucked a red shop rag right through the carb and out the exhaust definitely have one bent valve and the rest is still a mistrey. Good job liking the video

"A lot of people can do this, it doesn't mean they're doing it right". Ain't that the truth. On the work bench, below the cam chest is a F'n mess. Instead of fingering every different area saying look at this, look at that, have a clean work area. Put a row of white paper towels down, and a flat metal pan with a lip, to catch "sh*t, white paper towels inside of that also, spray every single part off with Electrical Contact Cleaner ( cleans and leaves no residue) inspect the crap that drips onto the white paper towels, and Then you can inspect the Cleaned parts for wear etc. I've been told Many times over the years that my work area looks like an Operating Room...and it should! Like i said last time, I wish you guys "All the Best". The Devil is in the Details. 👍✌️🇨🇦

What's your opinion on an S&S Reed valve breather Larry? I've put them in Shovelheads and early model evos so far and they all seem to run good? No moving parts so no wear, no shimming as they have a spring that holds them in place?

Look like who ever built it set it up for race motor stock motor tight fit to last longer loose fit race ready but got rebuild it way sooner race motor driven daily result in what your dealing with now my two cents good luck

Well it you do the bottom end and not the top then you have a weak spot. So.......

Dude, it is in within spec. Let it ride for a little while.

Shim it, figure out the H2O intrusion, rebuild it when you get home. Looks like a can of worms if you keep going🤦‍♂️

Let em shim it ,then ride like ya stole it. And save yer pennies. And decide what your gonna do.
