I bought the motion pro tool a few years back to remove the tappet screen, used that every oil change when I had my EVO. I'm loving this series and I'm sure you are helping a TON of people gain the confidence to work on their own bikes!!! Thanks for the content!

The deeper you go, the more a full rebuild looms on the horizon. But time will tell.

I always keep a clean screen to drop in when the oil gets changed.

I pulled one out of a Shovelhead once and it was full of silicone slivers due to someone thinking a little is good, but a lot is better, when gasketing, needless to say we had to rebuild the engine!

Keep the videos coming, please keep us up to date, need more info and detail on specs e.t.c don't be afraid to make the videos longer, I have learnt more about my EVO in the last three vids then I have in past two years owning it. 10 out of 10 Great content. From Sydney Australia!👍

Never heard of a witches hat till your last video, but I understand the what & why of it.

I'm 6 minutes in ... on your 1st video I suggested that you check the Tappet Oil Screen First...what you guys are calling a "witches hat" . Instead of just looking at/in the screen...put a piece of white paper towel on the bench, place the Tappet Oil Screen flat side down, and spray electrical contact cleaner on the Outside of the Tappet Oil Screen and flush out all the crap (you're going to have to do that anyways) NOW you can Truly see All the Crap that the Screen caught. Everything on the previously white paper towel will give you a real good idea of what's going on. THEN you can continue the Investigation. You can be a detective, or you can Thoroughly Investigate. HD evo cam specs. 010-.050 not what i call precision machining either. Causing cam timing cup to move back n forth. Someone just slapped a cam in and called it good instead checking and adding a shim. 🙄

I know its there and it should get cleaned but forgot about it. Hasn't been cleaned since I put a Guage on my Fatboy, oops. That Guage must have had a plug on the side to hold the vibration dampening oil in. But she be gone and water got in and screwed up the Guage. And that is probably why it stopped working.

Was the ultimate ignition set on single or dual fire ?
