Camping On Abandoned Highway
I went camping with an e-bike to access an old stretch of #abandoned #highway. The highway was straightened and made wider to go around small towns and that left the perfect spot to sneak into camp. Defiantly an acceptable spot for a quick overnight camping trip on bike!

Some of these comments are not the best. Too heartless and utilitarian. Loved ones are not to be replaced my friend but over time you can heal and hopefully find new love and new motivations. I promise you it is not a replacement. You can just appreciate things differently. You will love stronger than before if even possible. Keep moving. Not forward as you’re not leaving anyone behind but keep moving so that they can enjoy it whether religious or not that person is in your history and they move with you!
Ebike camping would be a cool series keep doing stuff like this!

Cycling is so immersive, and I'm excited to see all the cool spots you find! I love the shots of you riding your bike too - the invisible selfie stick is awesome!

Nice to see Steve at it again - I haven't seen a camping with Steve video since last summer. Apparently he was camping a few hours away from me, as I recognized some of the places he drove by/stopped at in the video, so I went and bought him some beer and tried to hunt him down. I think the videos were delayed by a few days because I was sure I was at the right place but I couldn't see him or his little camping pod thingy. I like a nice road trip and solo camping, so it wasn't a big bother. I ended up camping at a nearby place that was free and it was a really nice, quiet and dark night while I drank and watched movies in the woods. I wasn't fond of the Pilsner or whatever I bought for Steve so I ended up giving it to the mechanic when I got an oil change a few days later. I know Steve likes the off-the-beaten path sort of camping but I think it would be cool to see Steve do a multi-day hike... like the WCT on Vancouver Island or The Rockwall in Alberta.
Hey Steve, I'm very happy to see that you're taking life by the reigns and healing at your own pace. You are such an inspiration to me, and your attitude never fails to remind me that life is all about the little things and being present. Thank you for the hard work and content!

@@campingwithsteve Apologies, I'm copying this here since I've no idea if you'll see it where I first posted it among the other comments. Okay. The ebike. I heard you say it's an assist so does that mean it shouldn't be used 100% as an ebike? When young I rode bikes under my own power for decades but graduated to motorcycles and eventually I didn't ride my 10 speed any more. But, now that I'm old and the broken spine (when I was 15) and other things conspired and one leg pretty much died so I had to give up my motorcycle (after 40 years) because my leg (left) can't be trusted. It also disqualifies me from riding my 10 speed and my kids and grandkids ride all the time. My little Jazzy can't keep up. I was thinking about an ebike and can it be run solely on that as well as how far does a charge take you and, how long to charge it up. Sorry for all the questions but I've hit a spot in life where I can't grab all the gusto I want ... and need. The ebike seems to be a possible solution but before I start saving for one it would be great to get information from someone who's actually used one. Thanks! And again, Happy Birthday, young man!

@@suzibikerbabe8073 Ebikes still require you to pedal, they just assist that pedaling (in most case), such as going up an incline, it can take the edge off or if youre going up a hill, you can turn that motor assist up as high as legally allowed to make the hill not a pain. Most ebikes afaik have a thing on the handle to let you adjust how mucha ssistance it gives you 9thought here are some which are for all practical reasons, a motorcycle trying to take advantage of bicycle laws). In some places the assist has to be passive (aka no throttle for it, can only set how much assistance it gives, others allow throttle which is moreso a motorcycle).

@@Maxpower88888 If you use a bike as more than exercise, making the pedaling (which you still do on an ebike since its not a motorcycle) less energy intensive on the body is better, because it makes you work up less of a sweat if yorue commuting and extends your viable range in a day by a large amount. And I say that as someone who lives in one of the hilliest parts of Canada and is currently in the process of purchasing a 3 gear dutch bicycle without any electrical assist.

@@Maxpower88888What are you talking about? E-bikes are widely appreciated by hardcore bikers because it extends your viable biking range and assists you in potentially dangerous spots. They're not motorcycles, you're still doing most of the work. On top of that, they're great for people who are infirm, elderly, or otherwise have issues regarding straight hardcore constant pedaling and it allows them mobility that they otherwise might not have. You should relax and not comment on things you clearly don't understand.
