I'm taking a break from stealth camping with a normal camping video this week as I gear up to film a bunch more before I return home. I camped for the night in a S.O.L emergency bivvy link here: (These are just the Canadian links, not sure how to find the US or international links but I will learn how to find that! I don't have an affiliate program yet just sharing the links for some guidance on where to find this stuff!

I also used the folding Coleman camping oven for the meal which can be found here:

"I will _also_ have my sleeping bag, here [in case it gets too cold]." See, this is 1 of my fave things when Steve tests gear; he always has a fall-back plan for his own safety. Watching other channels where they're like, "I am going into these woods overnight w. an ice storm forecast & _only_ this mylar sheet in my pack!" is so pointlessly stressful. Steve doesn't endanger himself for the sake of survival machismo, & I really respect that.❤

Also the way Steve "bushcrafts" fires. Just point a propane torch at a pile of wood for a few minutes, that will get it going. I mean I guess that's machismo on the other end of the spectrum from using a fire steel, but at least it illustrates the point of just getting a fire started. Use fire steel, use matches, use a pull start fire, use a lighter, use a propane torch. It doesn't matter.

Exactly. Although I believe he’s speaking to new viewers. Have to remember that a lot of new viewers come from those stealth videos since they do so well and the algorithm kicks that video out all over this platform. It got over a couple million views which is unheard of for a camping/outdoors channel. That sure as heck isn’t just from his loyal subscribers and supporters like us. That’s a ton of new eyes on his channel so he probably feels obliged since people are going to notice the theme and mood is way different than the previous stealth video. But I agree. Balance is so important. These are just as fun. Just a different kind of fun. Less dramatic. Way more chill and personable.

You are enough just as is , doesn’t have to be a home run idea or whatever every single time no dude. This is your channel, your adventure. Don’t forget that some people can’t go camping , or have no one to go with or whatever reason. This channel is priceless to them. Every single minute of your content is priceless to me and many many others. Cheers from Niagara Falls, Ontario . Please keep them coming and don’t be so hard on yourself bro. You do more than enough and I along with many many others love your content, what ever that content has in store for us we are always left relaxed and in awe . Love you dude! You’d run out of stealth camp ideas and the channel wouldn’t be that interesting if it’s always the same thing. Do what ever floats your boat and what’s possible as well as enjoyable for you. Maybe a bushcrafting series would be something you consider?
These are just as good as the stealthing videos. The new stealthing spots will be harder and harder to come by over time but that's fine, these types of videos are great.

Steve , you help me with my depression man. You really do. Such a real, cool, humble person. Much respect brother
A lil duct tape and that bivy will be as good as new. Those reflective mylar types work better when there's an insulating layer between you and it. So it's not surprising you were better off with a sleeping bag inside the bivy. We don't care what type of camping or where. We're just glad you bring us along! Solid vid, thanks for sharing! Hoisting a Step 2 with ya Steve from Wisco, USA!
I just watched this in 2160p and let me tell you, WHOLE different experience. Looks amazing! Quality content, quality person and quality quality 👌 👏 I must say also I have to agree with everyone else in the comments section, you really do make my day Steve. Especially if I've been having a crappy day and you've uploaded it just turns around and even when you haven't I just go back and watch any of your older content. I love it all! Thank you for taking the time to do all of the researching and planning you do just to bring us quality content. You're a breath of fresh air in an otherwise hectic world 🙂
As someone who's been one of those folks in the big motorhome sharing the campground with all comers, if I'd seen someone like you roll up and just toss a bare sleeping bag on the ground, I'd have gotten a laugh out of it at my own expense. Here I am "camping" in a glorified apartment on wheels, next to a guy who's actually out there sleeping on the dirt under the stars.
I love my camp oven! I cut a piece of ceramic tile to put in the bottom for a heat sink and made an insulating cover out of a carbonized felt welding blanket and nomex thread. The cover massively increased the temp control on the oven and it folds up quite small.
You are the only KZreadr I follow that I anticipate and wait for your weekly drops! I follow many many others, and I may get around to watching theirs at some point, or it may be weeks if at all, or I may hit play and turn it off within 5-10 minutes. Your vid’s, no matter where or what the content is is always watched in its entirety and always enjoyed!! It’s not just your content Steve…..it’s you as a good and decent human being that we enjoy! The surroundings are just a bonus! Keep up the awesome job!!❤️❤️❤️
We all say it and we say it often: we’re here for YOU. Turns out the stealth is a fringe benefit. Like others have said, when I need to detach from stressors, or I need to just be listening to somebody who’s positive, laid-back and uplifting, I come here. Keep on doing what you do. Never change!

Hey Steve! Video idea. "Steve's Ideal Camp." Hit your favorite camping spot, make your favorite camping meal, and use your favorite gear and crack a few of your favorite step 2's. You can pad out the video a little bit by sharing pros and cons for each thing. It doesn't have to be a "best of" video, more of a "this is how Steve likes to camp" video.

Nothing like Thursdays, Camping with Steve, and cracking a step two with a bunch of friends!! Cheers Steve and gang🍺🍺

Steve, I’m from the UK and I just wanted to say that you’re the most humble of people on KZread. I’d happily have a beer (step 2) with you! Please never change!
My buddy and I were shopping for hiking gear and saw the usual Coghlans display of all the “emergency survival” equipment and got the idea to do a hike with nothing but stuff off the Coghlans rack. The plastic bag “tube tents”, bivy sacks, and the little fuel cube stoves and super cheap mess kits. We encountered another pair of hikers, and one of them looked a bit concerned and asked us if we were ok. He then commented that he had seen homeless people better equipped than us. We had no business where we were with the gear we had. It was fall in northern NH, it was getting cold, and we were nearly 15 miles out on a rather rough trail. But my buddy is a former Marine and I’m a pretty experienced hiker (actually lived in the woods for a month just to see if I could at one point). It definitely wasn’t a comfortable trip. Luckily we followed Steve’s guidelines and brought enough step two. That ground was anything but comfortable.
Hey! I've been binging every video on your channel while drawing for like-- what, the past week? And I have to say, you're one of the most entertaining youtubers I've watched to date. No fancy audio, no complicated intro sequence or heavily edited clips with over-excited loud-talking... Your channel is proof that content doesn't need any fancy, pretty graphics to be good, it's the person that gives it quality. Your content is absolutely wonderful, and it's you who makes it that way. No matter the video topic-- Stealth camping, or just regular old camping-- it's *you* who makes it interesting and engaging. I'm super looking forward to any and all content you make in the future... Cheers !!
This is where Steve was when I first started watching his channel. "Regular" camping with a bit of a twist (remember the "camping under a shower curtain episode?). Let them be irritated. I am thoroughly entertained! Thank you for going back to your "roots", Steve.

The butane stove is great! Thanks for testing out the oven on it. I had not gotten too that. I get cans of fuel by the case at a restaurant supply. I use the case for a wind breaker. You need a 5lb propane tank.Take care. Keep up the great videos.
I just enjoy the company Steve. No one in my life currently enjoys primitive camping. They're all about the camper and generator life with ac and TV. Sometimes you just gotta do things the traditional way and I live my dreams through you.
Steve I love the concept of you returning to the campground you frequently stayed in when you were living in your RV. As you creep ever closer to 1 million subscribers I bet that was quite the feeling. Much love from Detroit.
Steve, on the right stove, and using a massaged pan, you can even cook a small turkey of 8 to 9 ("lil butterball" or the like) pounds in one of those Coleman folding ovens. I've done 5 or 6 of them over the last few years, both with the oven on a stove and with it sitting over a small charcoal grill, and they turn out fantastic. The key is to use something with a bit more output and staying power than your butane stove...You'll need constant and consistent heat for a couple hours. Keep it out of any wind, or you'll chase temperatures the whole time. Speaking of temperatures, if you go to cooking bigger things, get a reliable extra thermometer, as the ones in the coleman ovens are notoriously inaccurate and generally considered unreliable. If you ever find the older model oven with the aluminum door that opens downward instead of sideways, you can get frozen pizzas barely trimmed at the sides into them too, as the opening of the door is the full width of the oven.

We're watching because you make KZread fun and relaxing. Thanks ... Best wishes to you and Beautiful wife...and crazy Neighbor too! (and Foresty Forest as well... I watch his videos sometimes now too) :)) Cheers!
As much as I love the stealth camping, the regular camping videos bring me back to my childhood. I have told people about your videos and how you talk about the prices of camping and how it keeps less fortunate people from being able to go. Any content you put out is great in my book, I've been a long time fan and will continue to be. Take care friends!
I am one of those who really enjoy your regular campground camping. I hope you will do more. I enjoy seeing your beautiful country.
When Steve cracks open his step 2, I love the spark my joint and say cheers! Thanks Steve, have a great day / night!
Just finished my first full day of a new job, this is a great relaxation bonus for me

@@TheAmericanDreamed Thanks! Cheers!
Steve worry not about uninterested viewer's & what campsite neighbor's think about your antics and just enjoy your free natured spirit. Us regulars will always be here enjoying the content!
Those little camp ovens are amazing, a piece of aluminum foil wrapped over the top and down the sides really helps keep the temperature up. I love mine. Great video Steve.
Stop apologizing for the non-stealth. We love it all! Here for It!
The park ranger was probably just thinking, "oh, it's Steve..nothing to worry about". Regardless of the makeup of the content, everything you put out is fantastic, and quite relaxing to watch.
Nice. I'm just going to chill and drink my step 2 with Steve. 😎👍❤️
Really enjoyed this one, Steve, doesn't matter what you're doing, it's your personality that brings me back each week.
You are literally the only channel I have ever subscribed to. This is awesome. Think I'm going to give this a shot, plenty of places here in the ol' US midwest.
I gotta say no matter what the shelter or location or how "boring" you think your videos are I find them extremely interesting. I honestly appreciate everything you do it has to take a toll on you at times. thank you

Ja. The 1 with crazy neighbor & scaffolding reminds me of a crime scene investigation🤔😁
Steve is in my top 3 favorite KZread channels EVER. There's nothing I love move than coming home after a long hard day of work and relaxing and having a beer with Steve

@@user-bw3fl7fj9w well I guess now that I really think about it I would say JCS- Criminal Psychology is number 1 and Steve's is number 2. Doug Demuro is 3. It's kinda funny because all 3 are absolutely nothing alike lol

Far bro, you don't even realize how good these vids are. It's like hanging out with my dad, who passed when I was young. I really appreciate these.
Hi… There are so many things that want our attention… but I chose to see you. That’s how good you are .. from singapore
Living in the UK now but I lived and grew up in Victoria. This camp ground brings back some great memories. I come to watch Steve because he reminds me that home is never to far away. Much love man! Keep spreading the smiles. Cheers!
Idea for future videos. In the top right corner display the time. To left the temp. Bottom right, the weather and bottom left the wind speed. I'd really like to see the time tho to be honest. Enjoying your videos. Best of luck to you and the family. Love from Japan
"Windproof up to 200mph" Perfect, I was looking for something to help me start a fire in the middle of a tornado!
Steve, you make me want to go camping. Also, I hate camping but every time a video drops I am overcome with the desire to go.
Steve, you are so charming that I could not leave even if I was just here for the stealth.
True going camping this past weekend was nice. Wake up, make coffee, sit outside on the picnic table relaxing. It was nice.
you make some seriously good and wholesome content. I’m kinda new around here the first video i watched of yours was the roundabout one but i’ve watched a few of your older ones too. 10/10 content. Seriously.
I love camping with Steve, it’s a weekly event I look forward to
