@@AbelandVictoriaI also have a Wild Country Ultra Quasar tent, expensive but bombproof in the wind, also has two vestibules, can also buy all the bits like new poles, inner and flysheet separately if something happens to any part of it.. I've had it in 80mph winds, scared the hell out of me. The tent was fine, in 80mph rain! Wouldn't recommend that too often tho haha. Am an old mountaineer who loves a challenge. Great video ! Loved the snow in the forest. Spectacular ! One little suggestion; warm clothes, especially camping/climbing/mountaineering clothes keep cold and also heat from reaching you. Next time if you're cold, remove your rain jacket and open your down jacket, you will instantly feel much warmer in front of a fire. The burgers looked great !! And that's from someone who isn't much of a burger fan. Good to remove the snow from the tarp because of its weight but not from the sides of the tent, there, it provides insulation.

Hello Abel, (and absent Victoria) I watched you all the way through and you were giving yourself a hard time and were feeling like the weather was responsible for more than it was. I think that you handled everything just fine . Even a longtime bushwacker can ruin a great pitch. Every time you brought up problems I quickly looked at your face. It always had a smile and many times it had good things to say. You had a positive attitude from the first to the last. That makes up for poor equipment or weather or sometimes the company you keep. After watching your video, I remembered that there was another New Zealand person or persons that I used to watch occasionally that had a dog and I thought that they went camping sometimes. I found a family who fit the description but they didn't camp that often and their goal was to travel to the US. A little background on myself is as follows. I'm 77 years old. I grew up in Northern Wisconsin (close to Lake Superior) and extreme weather in the winter. For the last 50 years I've lived in the Mountains of Colorado. I've actually LIVED IN my tent for a number of years. Myself and my Golden Retriever. My kids and grandchildren would camp with me from time to time. So, I might consider myself as someone who knows a little about the outdoors. So, this brings me back to that person who I recalled that was from New Zealand and camped with a dog. Well, you know OF him. You mentioned that you had a THING with a guy by the name of Tony. Well, I watched a few of his videos, and you said that he didn't know jack s* about coffee. Well, he doesn't know Jack * about camping either. And...he seems to want to blame anyone or anything for equipment failure or inclement weather or anything other than himself. I had a difficult time getting through those videos.

I wanna see this same scenario done using a family size tent and a family size shelter. The little tent and shelter make it too easy to setup, maintain and clean up.

I literally have to bring so much sh!t for a family of 4 that we have to take two vehicles. And I’m the poor bastard that sets it all up, takes it all down, loads it and unloads it. And if it rained i wouldn’t be getting to sit until my bedtime.

@@AbelandVictoria you’ll See one day when you’ve got a wife n kids. You become a Sherpa. And everyone’s happiness on a camping trip relies heavily on you. All of a sudden everyone is an invilant and you’ll be doing it all just so you don’t have to hear all the complaining

This storm is just normal type of storm where I live, but I'm inside of my house, except for when I go out onto the carport to watch the rain and I love the smell of rain. I live in Southwest Louisiana, USA. You can eat your noodles any way you want--It's your food to eat.
