I've had to admit to myself that I just don't like the 1:1:1 Negroni, so I cut the Campari and up the gin for a 3:2:1 and can drink those all night. Other Campari cocktails I love are the Jasmine, the Boulevardier, and especially the Old Pal. I always make an Enzoni if I have grapes! Cheers!

Mezcal? I though that was only known on the lost lands of Mexico, even there is not very used. Great to learn how to use it.

It's growing in popularity in America, I love the stuff. I have a friend who brings me a bottle every time she goes home to Mexico

As a big fan of negronis and paper planes I don't really have this problem, but definitely not going to complain about an expanded arsenal

just reminded me I need a Negroni in my life right now!

I recently picked up a bottle of campari since the negroni sbagliato was going around. Wish this was recommended for me! I had no clue what else to do with it for non-gin based drinks aside from a boulevardier.

Negroni tip: use any [un-expired] sweet vermouth OTHER THAN Carpano Antica Formula. I think the vanilla aspect of Carpano makes negronis taste a bit like a tootsie roll.

carpano antica isn't as traditional as most sweet vermouths. but im only one person drinking in my house and it was already open. My fav is cocci di Torino

what's the difference between campari and aperol?

You can kind of the of it as and intro to Campari. Most notably aperol is sweeter. They do have there different minor ingredients but feel free to replace aperol with Campari if that what right for your palette. If it’s to sweet adjust the sugar content.
