Easiest and fastest way to stabilize your handheld shots is by using a shoulder rig support. 3 points of contact that are also wider spread than holding the camera directly is better because it doesn't translate every hand shake into the camera motion as much.

I seriously love that you show examples! Most would just show the rig or whatever other item and talk about it. Thank you for showing us a preview of what the product can do!
I got mine this past Tuesday and I'm loving it. I've learned so much from you. Thank you for your hard work, we all appreciate your talents, time and efforts!
Just received this. I'm loving it. It's so versatile and functions well. This is my first rig and I'm still learning with it. Thanks for the vid on all its possible uses. Thumbs up.
This was really helpful and comprehensive! I appreciated you showing all the configurations as well as the before and after. Good job man!
used this for all handheld shots in my graduation film at university. Its worked really well, ours had been rented out from the uni for years so was a bit worse for wears, but none the less, a lovely bit of kit, GETS THE JOB DONE
Bought it. Once I saw your tutorial setting up the steadycam and the footage from your productions, I knew that you were worth paying attention to. Thanks for the tips! :)
Hi Tom. Great videos, very appreciative of all of them. I purchased one of these a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it! I had looked at videos for making your own rigs and found that task a bit daunting because of the tools used were not in my tool box. This totally eliminates having to do that and its VERY cost effective! Highly recommend it to anyone who is shooting DSLR
You sold me! Thanks for the tutorial especially with video shot from the rig itself.
Thank you for the review - I think we're going to try it! We make Jeeping videos and running up and down rocky trails and hills it is hard to keep the shots steady. We have an Osmo SteadiCam that works well but the video quality is not on par with the DSLR, but without some kind of steady-rig the DSLR footage is worthless. Hopefully this will let us get more shots on the DSLR .
king of Film tutorial master . Best of luck bro
Mine just arrived today! Playing around with all the adjustments and different mounts....I'm absolutely in love with this thing!! Definitely affordable and very easy to use and adjust. Excited to get some shots for upcoming videos. Great find, Tom! Thanks :) aslo, subbed after watching some of your videos including this one.
Really nice and practical review. particularly liked the comparison between filming with and without. Many Thanks.
Got one of these for Christmas and i use with almost everything i shoot! I love it!
Thank you for the great tutorial, I'm not a fan of gadgets either but sometimes elements like this are necessary! In ordering one thanks to your video! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the review man. Great little video which sold me on this product!
I have one of these, and it's great. Folds up and fits right into my backpack.
I bought one of these in red. It's fantastic. It folds right up in my backpack. So handy!
Just ordered mine! I can NOT wait! I love getting new toys for my Mark III. I know it's bad practice but I'm totally addicted!
I have one and it is very useful, also you can put on it some accessories and gives you stability, my team and I call it transformer, i'm happy that you used it too Tom, thanks for the advice!
I have this rig for almost two years and its still working fine!
I was originally going to buy a shoulder rig for $200 because I wanted guarantee it would be good but it seems too much for what it's worth and it takes a hassle to assemble and disassemble and I need the flexible time on packing and go. I'm so glad I stumbled upon your video because this rig seems to be so much more better. Not only does it offer the same durability and steadiness, it can be modified for a number of angles both low and high. I am definitely getting this.

Its pretty good for its price range. For the first rig I will recommend this for sure. I don't exactly know the limit but I used it with a bmcc cage and a canon dslr with a magic arm and monitor. Didn't got any problem.
nice one Tom, just what I've been looking for in the right price range. cheers
Hi Tom, thank you for your vid, i own that rig now too and i´m very glad about! Keep up the good work, with best regards from tschermany...
I got it for my birthday last week, neat little gear. If you want to use it for low shots, it's better to turn the shoulder piece forward and then over the camera for better balance.
Tried it today and loved it actually for its price.
sounds like an incredible price/quality ratio, gotta get me one of those things! Thanks for sharing :D
Great video, thank you
just ordered mine, it should be here Tuesday.
Excellent review
Thanks for the review. very helpful in making a buying decision !
yes it is
Awesome review tomato 👍
I have used this exact rig and it is very good product. Recommend.
Thanks for the review,I never thought of using it with a tripod but this does add extra flexibility.
Great review, thanks man!
It looks great!!
Yup it's great!
Sweet just bought it!
mine came in the mail today, very cool device.
great review! i just bought it on amazon!
Thank you this helped me to decide!
love your videos! :D
this is the best tool for me. Thank for introduce it.
Good video thanks Tom
I just bought one of these. Hopefully it works out. I already have plans for it.
Great share! Love your Pirates (Johnny Depp) poster!
best video iv seen thanks
Is there a way to add weights? If I had a matte box on my 5Dii would it work or be too heavy?
Youve had it for a few months now Tom,how is it holding up structurally? is it worth replacing the screws to make it sturdier?
Thanks for the heads up, i run a 15mm rod system, but was looking for a cheep hand-holding solution. I don't hand-hold much and I really want longer handles. Have you looked into the Lamparte handle system at all? It looks pretty nice, but is still $350.
Hey Tom...i'm planning on using one of these at a party event. Think it will be smooth enough for a lens like a Tokina 11-16mm?
That same thing with different branding would be hundreds.. That's very versatile... Thanks for the review.
Thanks got mines in the mail today
Can it use to camcorder such as sony pxw z280?
good info. thanks.
OMG theres so many videos of which shoulder rig to buy... this one is pretty catchy though. Would you still recommend this now that its been over 2 years? Surprisngly its still 40 (i thought it would be less). I'm a gh3 user btw.
this is great - considering buying this product. however i'm shooting on a 6D and have always manually focussed. is this going to be a problem? i guess my other option is to investigate the potential of live video AF...
This thing is awesome thx. Oh and you should shoot Diana more often she is so beautiful ;)
you can still mount a rail system onto this shoulder rig

How could this be done?
Do you think it can handle a 15lb rig or is mostly just for DSLRs? Great review!
Counter weights don't make the shots more steady. They just help in taking some of the weight of the camera from your hands and shifting it back onto your shoulder. I personally don't like using weights unless Im using a really big camera with heavy lenses. For DSLR's this is perfect.
thanks for the video!!
This is Brilliant
thank you. i'm going buy it
Hello I was wondering what was that thing you had to cover the sunlight called? It was cupped around your eyes.
Thanks for adding a link for UK/EU viewers. Is it easy to add a follow focus to this tool? I am thinking of getting one but may need to add a follow focus.
It might work in the standard shoulder configuration... but it probably won't hold steadily 15lbs in under hand configuration. I don't think you can tighten the handle joints so strong so it doesn't loosen under that much weight.
It looks like a great stabilizer but are you able to focus your film shots easier? It looks harder now.
Woah. That Surface One ad blew my mind
hey tom do i need to balance my camera on this rig? or we just attach the camera on it and use it? thanks :)
would this work with a sony a6000?
Gotta buy one of these when I get the extra money. I built my own fig rig (steering wheel), and it's GREAT, but it's too big to carry with me everywhere.
I'm considering using this on a canon xa20 (sped says 1.7 lb (765 g)) - will it handle this sort of weight and size ?
Did you color grade those shorts with Diana?, they look good.
Does Dianna come with the rig?
Is there a way to have a stabilizer on one of these? I want the freedom to pan, but I want it as smooth as possible.
I'm thinking about getting more of an actual shoulder rig for about $150. This is okay, but it ended up being too flimsy, and the rear arm popped out right in the middle of a wedding. It keeps popping out. It isn't too sturdy for me as a shoulder rig, but I thing I will use it for other things.
I like this rig, and find that I can add an inexpensive pull focus [NEEWER® Follow-Focus CN-90F With Gear Ring Belt for HDSLR cameras] if I have the lens facing the "back" (the screw-hole lines up very well, though it is a bit loose due to having only one point of connection). However, in doing so, I lose the shoulder component. Anyone know a way around that?
What lens are you using? It's pretty smooth if your lens did not have IS.
Are you able to take off the handles so say there was only 2 on the rig then supposed to 3?
Gotta get me one a these, but how does your shots turn out so good without counter weights?
£40 on Amazon and good reviews.
Hi Tom. Some idea how to attach follow focus system??
Can i attach the monitor on this rig? Thanks a lot for the review i like it ..
I have one of these but I just purchased an Ursa mini pro G2. Kind of skeptical about putting that camera on there even though it fits. What do you think Tom? Should I use it because there is no release plate so it feels secure but not sure. Please help and advise.

If u can attach it with two screws st the bottom of the URSA then it will be secure otherwise I would not risk it
Just bought it on ebay. Comes from Shenzen China $58.99. What a steal. Cant wait to get it.
Is it stable enough to hold the weight of a gimble? I want to also use it as a dual handle for my Zhiyun Crane-M. And also: Is it possible to attach weights on the back?
