He will always be a legend at Auburn , I don’t know about HOF , but he definitely had a major impact in his beginning years and good enough that his name will always be recognized in the NFL

He had a meteoric rise, but a quick fall from the peak. HoFamers either have a few SBs under their belt, or a long career full of stats. Cam had neither. Had he won his one SB, then maybe we would have that discussion.

I sat right behind Cam when he was playing for the Gators. I've always followed his career. This is the first time I've ever seen an interview with him where he got into details of who he is.. He's a good man

CAM played the game the way it was meant to be played. With a Big smile like it was backyard/street ball. I’d see this guy just plowing through the goal line with a big Smile. It really annoys me that the media would come after a guy that Loves the game. He had fun with it. He was dabbing and making plays! It became a cultural phenomenon. How’s he NOT a HOFER? His dual threat was TRUE. He took his team to the Super Bowl. He lived up to the hype about comparisons between him and Vick. He answered the questions about his arm by showing out as the first rookie in *HISTORY* to throw for 4000 yards. Cam may not be a champ be he is in an entirely different stratosphere than Russel Wilson. Cam proved that the option could work in the NFL. Cam *ONLY* weakness was that he let other peoples opinions get into his head. Something we saw with local camps vs kids and also with the media criticism. I saw a huge smile fade away over the years into a more defensive and protective player. I watched the passion become guarded and sheltered. But I’ll tell you right now. *JOYFUL CAM* is an absolute beast on that field. Yeah he threw “tantrum” after losing to Denver in the Super Bowl. Thats when the media started pouring in questions about his leadership, his mental strength and his maturity. It got Ugly. With all due Respect CAM NEWTON is a Hall of Famer. He may act like he doesn’t want it but that’s partially because he’s been calloused into accepting that he isn’t likely to receive such a prestigious honor due to his personality that the media made into such a big thing. He stayed true to the Panthers! He is a franchise QB. He didn’t bounce around except for that lone year in New England. They went 15-1 en route to his Super Bowl Season in which he was the MVP of the league. MVP of the NFL is the most prestigious honor that a player can win in the regular season. How’s he not a HOFER? 10 of 11 seasons with the Panthers and the final gave us that special sound byte and a glimpse of *JOYFUL CAM* “IM BAAAAAAaaaaACK” as he scored. Yeah it was short lived but it brought back memories. I hope he gets the knock one day 🚪. And I hope when he gives his speech that he remembers the *JOY* he had playing football. It was joy to watch.

i love cam newton im a big fan but he had a huge impact on the game even if it wasnt a hall of fame career it was a great time.

Man idk if he played long enough or did enough to be a HOF but he would definitely be a 1st ballot if there was a college HF. lol and I would like to see him in the HOF as a Carolina fan but I get it, if it doesn’t work out that way for him. He’s still a HOF worthy athlete, a good dude and one of the best college players of all time. Not to mention, the two times that our expansion panther team went to the SB, the second time was because OF HIM. I wish he dove on the fumble but it doesn’t keep me up at night. He has MVP and one of the best rookie qb seasons ever! So many accomplishments but at the same time, retired early basically and then didn’t actually win the SB.

Cam is one of the few men who transcends football. Hall of fame or not Cam name will live on for many years.

Yep he could have been a HOF , tight end, D line man , where he could have been a me first player . But not at QB, the ultimate team first position where you can just rely on atheletic ability.

It’s definitely a fair question. Taking into account the leader he was I think he’s gotta be in there. Took an auburn team and won without any nfl talent and then took a panthers team without his #1 receiver in Benjamin at the time and made a Super Bowl was huge. I know he had Olsen and a great defense but my point is that he seemed to continuously elevate his team throughout his career

Cam was on another level when he was on top. The down fall was bad tho. But I think eventually he gets into the HOF but not right away.

He had one truly memorable season in 2015 when he almost led Carolina to their first Super Bowl win. He's one of at least five players in the discussion for the GOAT of college football. One of the most efficient ways to determine if someone's resume is HOF worthy is to see what it looks like when you remove their statistically best and worst seasons, as it gives you more insight as to what they actually were as a player. If we applied this to Cam, his career win percentage would be below .500 (60-62-1), his completion percentage would still be below 60%, and his combined total touchdown to total turnover ratio would be 2.09, which is lower than the career averages of both Lamar Jackson (2.33) and Josh Allen (2.16), who are the two best true duel threat QBs today. Cam Newton was a highly talented player that deserved to win his Heisman, the national championship, be the 1st overall pick in 2011, and win league MVP in 2015. But no, his overall NFL resume does not make him a NFL Hall of Famer.

For Cam to get into the hall he would been to play 2 more years. Get those 25 RTD to get that 100 and throw for 6 more TD’s to get to 200. To be the 1st QB in history to throw for 200 TD and Rush for 100. With a MVP, Rookie of the year and 2015 All pro. It may not be 1st ballot but it would be Hall forsure.

The fact he said he didn't care that kind of answer means he knows he not going to get in but he was great with out question college and pro but not a hall guy

Steve young is considered to be the greatest dual threat qb ever and played 15 seasons and gathered 33k passing yards and about 4200 yards rushing and yet cam played 4 fewer years and amassed 32k passing yards and shattered his rushing mark with 5600 yards rushing. Otto Graham is considered to be greatest goaline qb and is in HOF and had 44. Cam smashed this record and now holds all time record in TDS with 75. Right now if he doesn’t play another down he is 29th all time among QBs all time. Right between HOF Warren moon and Joe Namath. He didn’t have a very long career however the career he did have he made history and that is what a HOF is.

Shannon if you have to ask the question then you know the answer.
