It's good to see Lewis continuing the tradition of telling Tom he has a ridiculously powerful item without Tom's prior knowledge

And also, knowing almost everyone in the city. Like Lewis's character Ameebo in the Star Wars Yogsquest, who just happens to know almost everyone they meet. As much as an ass pull it was, Tom playing along with it cause Lewis succeeded his dice roll.

This is probably my current favorite show on KZread. Everyone is so charismatic and I love the character continuity.

The poor priest did not deserve that level of trauma, but loving the cursed film!

I like all your content, but Call of Cthulhu is just...*chef's kiss*

I'm so happy Tom is doing this channel. I hope he'll do it for many more months to come

I love how when the camera is facing Lewis he looks so youthful, but when the camera captures him on an angle when he has his head tilted down busy writing, he looks 40 years older until he looks back up. 😅

I absolutely love that Tom B and Harry basically just created their own cursed object and proceeded to show it to a priest in a dilapidated church. Absolutley love the horror shenanigans

I know Archie’s career has been tough but just wait until he directs and stars in his own hit film: Nigel and marmalade

I LOVE that Tom B made a video of the book and how it's evolved into an eldrich piece of horror.

Tom is genuinely such a fun storyteller. Without him these series would be so much less enjoyable. I love how he takes the games so seriously and allows the guests to get weird with it. Leads to such fun moments

I love that they've created this nightmare cursed film?!?! That might have a demon in it?!?! Wooooboy and they show it to a priest?!?!? Incredible energy, incredible!

The showing of the cursed movie in the church, just Tom describing how there are pages and pages of _Des Vermis Mysteriis_ slowly turning while interspliced with... *_Something_* slowly turning it's head. No description, just... A creature. Just... _Chef's kiss._

I hope that poor priest shows up in another adventure

Sanity refill IMO. Not like MQ really goes hard into sanity (the only one where sanity was a real issue was Forget me not I think) but this feels like an action that would either increase or refill sanity. Just a show of basic human decency (also great roleplay should always be rewarded)

I absolutely love the way Lewis roleplays! It’s so funny to me every time he announces that he has some new thing like “I grab my elephant gun” and just rambles along with it

Quickly shaping up to be my favorite Call of Cthulhu campaign on this channel

The sound design really enhanced Barry's reading. I listen to these thru headphones and MAN shit like this hits juuust right. Great spooky Cthulu tingles.

Only one episode a week is painful, but God do I love Mystery Quest! Thank you Tom and the amazing editor(s)!

You know, a short animation showing the contents of Archie's tape would be a pretty good promo for shorts. And as a Nigel and Marmelade member I have an idea who would be the perfect candidate for making such a short animated imagery true. He used to be an editor 'round these parts but by now we do not even speak his name. We have Oscar now. And Oscar does a great job. Also love the watch Ravs is wearing. If by a long shot someone knows what they are, I'd like to check them out.

Did not expect to enjoy Lewis's Major character as much as I am, absolutely hilarious.

I am greatly enjoying this adventure, of three people advanced in age and one very ill advised film making young man! Looking forward to the elephant gun, it's ridiculous and yet perfectly fitting!

The openers to these leave me so intrigued to see possible future campaign settings!

Tom's laugh at 45:15 really lets you know fun things are about to go down

Another great episode! I just ran this campaign for my family as an intro to Call of Cthulhu and it's really interesting to see which parts you interpret differently than I did, and which parts played out almost the same!

I love them for just pouring their own sanity down the drain by insisting on rewatching the tape. They'll have barely any left once the real fun starts

The cursed film is so good and fits so seamlessly you could think it was thought of ahead of time and not come up with organizing the spot. Great role playing from everyone!

Love this series so far, the added sound effects for ambience really help build an eerie feeling

Damn, was so engrossed in the story I was surprised it ended and had to check the video wasn't actually just 10 mins long. Absolutely flew past.

I really want to see how the film ends, gave me super goosebumps and terrified as if something was standing right behind me. Amazingly described by Tom and I love the chaos of the gang trying to keep watching.

The Call was quiet at first, and now that it has dragged me to the end, I realize it's existence. I find myself on a Mystery Quest, and at the last episode released, having enjoyed all the others at leisure, slowly coming to look upon the horror of having to Wait. A few days, for now. Yet - after that... I must have patience.

Always makes my Friday knowing there’s a new role play session to watch! :)

The scene in the church was everything I hoped for.

Correct me if im wrong, but there is an actual Call of Cthulhu adventure that is about a cursed vinyl record, where the curse was transferred to it when someone read an ancient book out loud. I could be confusing it with a horror short story instead. I think there was also a bit where it took place in the 80's, and a cursed cassette tape was made from recording the vinyl record? I liked the idea of curses being accidentally transfered across mediums/media.

Harry is always great in these, he's hilarious and knows how to drive the plot forward. Also I don't think they noticed but the previous owner was said to have moved to Boston, where Merryweather was warned to stay away from with no reason. The townsfolk are definitely involved!

Lewis is just so good at the little things as a Roleplayer. Tom has been great as well at adapting to the party's whims!

This is the first time you're running a Call of Cthulu adventure I've personally run. It's super interesting hearing all the different approaches you're taking, and I'm very excited for the post-game behind the scenes peek. Also, Harry and Tommy B accidentally creating their own "Cursed Movie" is so good and I hope "There's a lost Archie Van Der Holt movie that drives anyone who sees it insane" becomes Canon

Loving this campaign. Great characters, really spooky and the cursed film bit is golden.

I'm loving this campaign so far! I always really appreciate call of Cthulhu as a system for it's unintentional story-telling, everyone failing the psychology roll on the priest really creates so much atmosphere, the unknown is so compelling! Was he possessed? Did he recognise the creature? Or was it just a check to tell us how damn scared he was? Amazing dm-ing as always Tom!

This has now become one of my favourite roleplay channels. on a sidenote, first time I see the intro by Tom, I thought it was a bit weird. But each time I watch a new one, I enjoy them more and more. Now I love them.

Absolutely loving this series! Call of Cthulhu scratches an itch and I genuinely felt scared when the group started watching the film back!

I first started listening to Mystery Quest only a week ago and I've about binged all of it now - major kudos for Tom for making each adventure so much fun!!

Really been enjoying Mystery Quest, especially the Call of Cthulu runs! I recently joined a one shot of the game at a local board game cafe and had a blast! I played Viktor an artiste.. some say he is still painting those creatures eyes to this very day. Had a funny moment where my character and another looked at these horrifying paintings and I crit success and they crit failed so I gained sanity and inspiration and they lost sanity.

The suspense is awesome! Always enjoy the Cthulu sessions
