Today in this special episode, we are releasing the first episode of the Call me Back podcast recorded before a very enthusiastic live audience at the Comedy Cellar in Manhattan. Our guest was actor, director and comedian @MichaelRapaport .
The focus of our conversation is about how Michael became such an energetic, provocative, and hilarious voice on behalf of Israel and the Jewish people since 10/07, as well as his observations on why more Jews from the creative arts and entertainment industry have not been as outspoken as him (or, even worse, why so many have remained silent).
We also discuss his reaction to those who criticize Israel “as a Jew”, and his experience dealing with the professional cost of proudly advocating for Israel and the Jewish people.

I was also feeling a calling back to the traditions and observing the holy days before October 7th. I was going to go to Yom Kippur services with my grandmother and my 1 year old daughter. We were running late, couldn't find parking and ended up leaving, and I felt really guilty like I had yet again turned my back on Judaism. Then a couple weeks later, October 7th. I almost felt like I caused it by not going with my grandmother to the service. Since then, I have become an amateur Jewish history/Israel buff, I started bringing my daughter to Shabbat services, I purchased siddurim and a copy of the Tenakh. We observe Shabbat at home, I wear a kippa on Shabbat, I obtained from hametz during Passover. I met a local Chabadnik who I now stay in touch with to get items for Jewish festivals. October 7th and the subsequent reactions had this type of waking effect on many Jews.
Michael is a legend. Thank you for spreading light, truth and comedy.

Where has Adam Sandler and Natalie Portman been. Complete silence. Can't even talk about the hostages. That's incredibly weak and sad, but it shouldn't be forgotten.

@jkbjkb8899 thanks for letting me know. That's good she did, but I thought we'd hear more from her, being that she's Israeli or at least born there.

Awesome guy. Could use some Jewish A listers too other than Jerry Seinfeld and Michael Douglas. Where they at? In hiding?
