California Trains On Route 66
Spent 3 days following the trains along the historic route 66 in California! Trains pretty much the entire way. Have you ever explored old route 66?

I never knew that Route 66 ran with the Santa Fe line, that's super cool
This may be one of the best railroad videos ever filmed. The photography, the knowledge of the area, the knowledge of the trains, the editing, the audio and even the filming of the weather are all phenomenal. This truly is a work of art. Every bit as much of a work of art as a fine painting or a beautiful rendition by a symphony. Remarkable. An accurate judging of how good an internet video truly is may be learned from reading the comments. The comments for this video have as much class and appreciation as any that one can find on the internet. Thank you.

Took a couple of road trips on Route 66 to L.A. (from Vegas and Needles CA) in the past. No matter what, you will encounter some of these trains for sure. It's always a treat to see and hear them. No Route 66 road trip will be complete without them. 🙂

I heart Route 66 cuz it goes through Springs.
Nice sky shots no chemtrails
Totally agree with the comments below. Great work, esp the aerial shots. I think i counted 10!! units at the front of one of the trains! You spared us the 'boredom' of endless cars, but it would be interesting to know if these railroads use mid-section and tail DPU's, as Canadian trains typically do. Cheers, best wishes!!

Thanks for the great video. Have been lucky to visit this area numerous times when visiting from Downunder. Many great spots to watch trains. Too many to name. I think Goffs is my favourite with trains cresting grades from both directions. Homer is also a nice place to rest from the driving and watch trains climb up to Goffs. Thanks again. Why are some of the locomotives ass backwards, are the other locomotives in the train setup in reverse gear for extra uphill and up the mountain power boost?
@videosoftrains

Yes I think they are for boosting trains over mountain ranges
