The BNSF former Santa Fe 'Transcon' Railway in Western Arizona
Ойын-сауық
The BNSF “Santa Fe” Transcon Railway in Western Arizona (and Needles!) in 4K!
UPDATES: This video has updated new scenes from Seligman, Nelson Tunnel, Lhoist Nelson Plant, as well as more coverage of the east side of Kingman as well as the famous Happy Jack Wash bridge near Haviland!
The former Santa Fe “Transcon” across Arizona is both STUNNINGLY active (up to 90 trains per day although the latest average is perhaps 70 or so!) as well as incredibly scenic. It literally is a running conveyer belt of the world economy.
The epic scenery from the ancient walls of Kingman Canyon, the amazing crossing of the Colorado River into California, to the brand new breathtaking $36,000,000.00 crossover at Truxton.
The line is steeped in Santa Fe history, with Santa Fe Railway stations & Santa Fe emblem painted bridges still in abundance nearly 30 years after the Santa Fe was merged with Burlington Northern.

Thanks 👍. We agree. Until we can afford James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman there will be NO narration. 😂😂😂🙏. So many great videos are posted on KZread are ruined with narration.
Like many people, I deal with an inordinate amount of stress in my life. Your videos are so soothing and brilliantly put together. It allows me to to forget the crap in my life and escape for an hour. Thank you...

Thank you for this video of the BNSF southern transcon along the former Santa Fe Railroad from Seligman, Arizona to Needles, California. I enjoyed the trains and the scenery that they travel through. Thank you for the updates that you included in this version of the BNSF's Seligman Subdivision. I really enjoyed the information that you gave us about the Lhoist Nelson Lime Plant. The information about the uses of lime in our daily life was enlightening. Including the Nelson Tunnel was a bonus. The reason for the existence of the Nelson Tunnel was interesting. Thank you for also pointing out the former roadbed of the Santa Fe Railroad before the building of the Nelson Tunnel.

Thanks Thomas!!! We didn’t want to update the video so soon again but the Lhoisen Nelson plant is so important to the economy of the west that it really needed to be included and the tunnel I think is the only one on the Transcon at least thru Arizona?
Something about this video makes me smile. It shows the beauty of America’s railroads, the calm music with no narration is awesome. Amazing work, it’s perfect

Amazing video, l love how the music with the video brings this hospitable land, beauty. The snow scene, brought a dynamic I have never seen in the Arizona desert. Had to watch a couple of times to see all the details of this parched land. Again what a amazing video. Can’t wait for the next one.

Impeccable work as always. I especially love the rising shot at 17:25 of the train driving toward that enormous sun on the horizon. Awesome!

Parabens! The fantastic Arizona landscape in partnership with Chick-fil-a ads is quite a prize. It's pure speculation, but imagine dining car cuisine with a partnership of Fred Harvey and Chick-fil-a. The Chief would still be serving the public. More videos please. West of Seligman I was pressed into service during a work stoppage once as a conductor. I was too busy with track charts, the timetable, calling signals, monitoring the train, etc. to enjoy the trip, but, oh the memories!

If ever I hired out a cinema for an evening, to test things out I'd roll the footage from 12:05 on. I'm watching this on a 27" monitor and it looks amazing. On a cinema screen I'm not sure I'd be able to breathe. Words cannot describe how beautiful that is 😍

Another amazing production -and so relaxing that I fell asleep! I just completed watching it a second time and, in addition to the artistic value, you shared some great information such as the lime factory. I was also highly impressed with your close-up shots of the flood-control structures at East Truxton. Other coverages of the flyover have never detailed those necessary structures. The Nelson Tunnel info was also great. I could could go on but will end with: anxiously waiting for the next one. Wishing you God’s blessings to stay safe and be well.

a challenge for @AcmeCinematography: how each locomotive is connected and controlled; how loads are loaded and unloaded; how to deal with broken trains on the tracks; what if the load is animal; what is the view from the driver's room. etc, from your sight. So far, your videos always show views from a distance, but they're pretty good. (sorry for english from gg translate)

Ah, real railroading!!!! The territory looks so different from the air than through a windshield 🤣. Kingman is a quiet zone, shouldn't hear too many horns. The tunnel at Nelson is the only one on the entire transcon. The curve at Truxton is a huge waste of money, none of us agree with it. Should have used it on track maintenance. I'll be out there working tonight 😅👍. Fantastic video!!!! Santa Fe all the way!

Still not a huge fan of the music. Train sounds are music enough in train videos for me... I have 50 acres just east of the Nelson plant. It's just south of the grand canyon caverns airport. I go camping out there from time to time although not nearly as often as I'd like to. That's a long way away from Michigan 😕 in the background of your shots looking east it would be right at the edge of the green trees right along the rail line. After being harassed by the police in flagstaff for watching trains I just bought property so no one can chase me off. The same thing I ended up doing here in Michigan. I would love to put a cabin or something on my land in Arizona so I can set up a live stream similar to what I've done here. Next time you're in that area take some shots from the Crookton bridge on Rt66. Last time I was there they still have the old rt66 bridge there next to the modern one. I have a shot of an eb tail end dpu with the snow capped volcanos in the background as the lock screen on my phone. Your videos are giving me great ideas for new places to visit next time I get out there. I'm pretty sure I could walk to that Nelson tunnel from my property without too much trouble. A lot of the north side of the tracks through there is privately owned but the south side in that area is public hunting land or something to that effect. Property it wouldn't be a big deal to wander around anyway. Having a side by side out there could be a blast!

@Acme Cinematography If you ever want to film from my property I'd be happy to grant permission, just give me credit in the description or something. My email is in the description of my live stream. Just drop me a note if you'd like to go out there. You will need a 4x4 though, especially if there's any moisture on the ground. It's pretty remote! I had set up a cellular game camera out there just to see what kinda cool stuff was running around and get some shots of the trains but it quit working after a few months. I haven't been able to get back to trouble shoot it yet sadly.
