A California Coast #vanlife road trip starting on Highway 101 in Los Angeles through Ventura, Montecito and Santa Barbara. Then we head into the Central Valley wine region through Solvang, Los Olivos, Santa Ynez and Paso Robles. Back to the famed Pacific Coast Highway through Big Sur, Carmel, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay. Finally winding our way through San Francisco, across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito, Bodega Bay, Jenner, the Russian River valley and Healdsburg in Sonoma County. Beautiful! Love Carmel! Funny that you chickened out the first night & stayed in a hotel. I probably would do the same thing because it seems so weird to be sleeping in a van on the street or in a parking lot. lol Guess we’ll eventually get use to it!

So your van is 289 inches which is 24 ft 1 in long Was it difficult to park it in Carmel and other cities (both big and small cities?

It wasn’t too bad but regardless of city size, it’s key to find parallel parking because the back sticks out too far for most parking lots.
