I might have to start implementing some bent legged calf raises to strengthen the soles as I have just increased my cadence from 163 to 172 and now my soleus is feeling it it felt like someone hit me in the soleus with a baseball bat🤞I haven’t torn it

If it runs down right next to the bone it might be because you strike the ground either assymetrically or with your heel rather than your forefoot. (I'm no professional, but changing that and training kettlebell swings or cycling instead of running have helped me)

Sometimes factors like cold weather or poor bone density can play a role in this. Overdoing one type of exercise without adequate rest can also be a reason. Try to balance your exercise regime. Else consult a physician.

people go out to their sports when pain subsides, big mistake. Injured muscle is weakened muscle. The fact that pain subsides doesn't mean that muscle can be back to be used to the same sport intensity that injured it. Injured muscle must be rehabilitated and strengthened fully before put to any strenuous sports activity. If not you shall remain a citizen of the land of chronic injury and pain.

I am assuming that doing eccentrically loaded heel drops with a bent leg will help the soleus be able to Berger handle the demands of running much the same way doing them straight legged helps the Achilles’ tendon , am I correct in saying this

You’re wrong you didn’t take the calf muscle out of it you took the gastrocnemius out of it.
