My L heel pain, as described in your video, worsened greatly from walking for longer periods along the beach. I had worked up to 45 min walking on the treadmill. On nice days I walk the beach instead. The sand and small rocks and incline works the small muscles in the calf and ankles more. I appreciate your suggestions and will apply them.

Thanks to your video I realized immediately I have a heel stress fracture. Searching for "heel pain" on the web the only thing that comes up over and over is Plantar Fasciitis. I knew I didn't have that because I've had it in the past. Did the "sides of the heel" squeeze test and: OUCH! I've just ordered the Hoka Bondi 7 shoes you recommend and plan to wear them inside and outside at all times until my foot heals. The strange thing in my case is that I am not a runner, I don't do any high impact exercises, and I have not done anything to strain or injure the foot which has the fracture. I only take light walks. In fact recently I have used my feet very little because I was recovering from a sprain on my other foot - my sprain had just gotten better enough that I cold start taking longer walks and now I suddenly have a stress fracture on the other foot - and so once again I can't walk! The only thing I can think of is that I know I don't have very good arches on my feet and the shoes I have been wearing (Ontisuka Tigers) probably don't have very good support. Is it possible to get a stress fracture simply from walking in shoes that don't offer good support? Has never happened to me before in my life. I am 51.

Make sure you are getting nutrients to support bone growth. (FYA Doctors are not taught nutrition.) Vitamin D (15 min mid day sun) Vitamin K2 Vitamin C (foods to build collagen) Boron (from raisins and pears, etc) Eggs (most complete protein to build framework) Avoid glyphosate (eat organic) since it chelates nutrients. Magnesium (citrate or biglysinate) Calcium (from foods) Alkaline diet (to reduce acid levels so your body doesn’t take calcium from bones to buffer) Phosphorus Potassium (avocados) Zinc and copper (liver) Manganese Silicone Etc.

There is a high chance of osteoarthritis afterward through the subtalar joint if a fracture has occurred here. This is the tough part of these types of fractures. They can have high complication rates even when done properly. Personally, I would avoid surgery for these if the shape of the calcaneus is close to normal (these are usually the ones where some doctors recommend doing no surgery); good shoes and excellent support later are key for these types of fractures afterward, and in my opinion,o n is what results in the best outcomes long term.

Placing a wool sock over a compression sock eliminates the compression socks' ability to do it's job. It's also not a good idea to use an orthotic with a walking boot. I know this from experiences based on this video. Keep the boot on for 12 weeks to fully heal the heel fracture. Talk to your doctor. I also DO NOT recommend doing any form of physical therapy on your foot during that period as it may refracture or tear the ligaments, tendons, and bones that are needing to heal, causing more irritation and prolonging the healing process.

Well this guy gave more than most. Most will just charge you for a thousand things, get a bunch of x-rays, orthotic equipment, etc. If the symptom is pretty obvious a stress fracture due to overuse and poor footwear like it is mine with 99% certainty without all of that, this general advise is very helpful
