The Cajon Pass is the valley that separates the San Bernardino and San Gabriel mountain ranges. At one time these two ranges were one, formed by the San Andreas fault where two continental plates, the North American and the Pacific plates push against each other. As the years passed a low point eroded by water and helped along by additional faulting formed the valley between the two.

Fascinant ! Toute la démesure et la puissance du fret ferroviaire aux USA... et fort bien filmé pour notre plus grand plaisir d'amateur.

It's extremely interesting and a rail fan's paradise. So many trains! So many tracks going here, there, and everywhere. Our trains are extremely long, but when you watch trains from Europe, they are short, as in 30/40 at most cars, and one engine. This by no means is any criticism of Europe in general or European railroads in particular. I wonder if there's some kind of law mandating the length of freight/passenger trains in Europe.

lol longer consists require longer yards. europe doesn't have that kind of space. also, a lot of US railways depend on non-urgent intermodal/natural resources so it's more economical to ship cross-continental by rail. passenger rail in US is inferior to western europe though.

Porque as linhas destes trens de carga tem uma infinidade de curvas, não seria bom ter umas linhas mais retas?
