Caitlin Clark - Indiana Fever guard on ankle injury, loss to Connecticut Sun

Спорт

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever played their fourth game in a week -- all on national TV. And twice each to the New York Liberty and Connecticut Sun. Here's what she had to say after their 88-84 loss to the Sun Monday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, their second sellout of the season. She had 17 points, three rebounds and five assists, and the first technical foul in her WNBA career.

They only hurt the viewers wanting to watch the game. Congrats to Fever Coach Sides for making adjustments and teammates for doing their part. Team work makes Fever work. I can't say much because Connecticut had some and 1's that should've been called that weren't...that being said a possible game deciding call was the call the refs reviewed but refused to tale responsibility for a bad call. Moving screen was clearly a foul by Connecticut. Refs need to be fired. Know they made a wrong call and still won't correct it because of their ego.

Hey I just want to know why they don't work a consistent screen game with Caitlin at the top or at the side like they did in Iowa? Caitlin has the ball and no one comes out and screens. They make her work super hard to get loose one-on-one instead of giving help. I'm so disappointed in Christy sides. She just doesn't understand how to coach Caitlin. And in Iowa they did double screens and then rolled to the hole or kept setting screens. So she'd either bury a deep three or she'd hit someone inside. If she gets the ball outside everybody ignores her and if someone else has the ball they won't focus on getting her heated up. She hit that 35 ft 3 and she was feeling it on FIRE and they went away from her. 🚒🔥 I just don't get it.

1st 3 games were not great but this last game was where this team needs to be. PLAY FAST. even if the other team has better players. Fatigue will strip away your skill. There are a bunch of players on the court who are not fit. The Fever should test everyone's fitness.

There were times in this game when Sides didn’t have Caitlin at point guard. That’s stupid. Most possessions where Caitlin is running the show turn out well. Often, she is open and the others ignore her and drive in for a bad layup. Layups and bank shots from the low block should be made 95% of the time. Fever makes about 40% and don’t get their own rebounds! They’d be better off having Caitlin shoot 3s

I somewhat athletic 41 yr oldand pretty bothered by such a simple injury. Just don't understand why I would've rolled my ankle on such a short drop and to that extent.

She says regularly how she can't make excuses for being tired or banged up; after one game she said she was not effective and her teammate disagreed; her post passing game needs improvement, etc, etc. What rookie player after their team soundly gets beat in her first game as a pro faces the press? I have never seen that in way too many years of watching sports. She needs to stop complaining to the refs.

Fouls, rebounds, turnovers, missed layups, no fast bresk/transition, no credible outside threat. Little they can do about all the foul calls, it's WNBA officials, the league vets know how they roll. All the rest are team weaknesses. When Clark is, or is among the team leaders in made layups and rebounds, that's a HUGE problem.

Coach needs to call players out, it seems with her teammates there is a conspiracy to keep ball from Caitlin and to miss shoots, when she goes to bench they suddenly come alive and start scoring. . I think they have decided to freeze Caitlin out. When Caitlin is on the bench usually you have 5 black players on the floor.
