    I think they should have sat Caitlin for the rest of the game, as long as the score was close and the game was winnable (which it was.) That ankle was sore and needed a rest. You could see how carefully she moved and flat-footed she was for the rest of the game. There is too much money invested in her, and it was a big risk to have played her.

  • @keithlott5146

    @keithlott5146

    23 күн бұрын

    The team is not learning to play the skill level of CC, stop saying that nonsense. Boston rolls to the basket. CC pass was a turnover, she couldn't get her the ball, as the announcer said, coach has Boston doing the short roll, CC can make that pass, Boston has easy pull up jumper. She comes down on the break, guard push the ball, defender runs to the corner to guard the three, CC following the play, guards hit hers for long three. Backside play, CC gets trapped, easy bucket, a few plays later, teammate extends arms, force CC to stay, ball rotates, CC is in position to play defense, another pass and fever gets the turnover. Stop assuming what you want to be true, and speak facts. Coach got abused by fans for speaking the truth on what CC was doing wrong, she corrected them and somehow CC gets the credit for the whole team when she was the one not playing right. CC will be fine, just give her time, but no need to keep spewing all this high praise on her when its not deserved, her time will come she is learning to play Fever basketball, Fever is not learning to play CC basketball.

    Clark is a shooter, an amazing shooter, when she gets comfortable, she knows the system, she makes the right pass, this is where she can excel, but it ends here, she need to get thru this season as all rookies do, take a vacay, rest, then get in the gym and work on her game, get stronger and learn how to handle the ball better, a good defender, she is easy pickings. But, its such a short time from WNCAA final four to WNBA tip-off, she will be fine, putting expectations on her as the GOAT is very premature and she don't have the game yet to bet that. Her fans have to stop saying she the goat, she the reason why this and that, all you do is raise unbelievable expectations and even when she have a decent game, it still look like a failure. 17-5 is a good game, but the expectations is so high, her non fans will see that as mid because her fans keep setting this insane bar for her.

    @@keithlott5146 That is all true. What I was mostly impressed with this particular game was her resilience and fortitude to play after sustaining an ankle injury. Not only did she continue to play, she started playing better, with even more energy. That shows winning/leadership character, and her team vibes off that. She and Boston are finally clicking on the pick-and-roll/pop, and Clark's passing is getting sharper. She needs to get down deeper in her defensive stance, though, and keep her hands up on defense. She really reminds me of a female Pistol Pete Maravich. She's offensively oriented with a unique and sometimes unorthodox playing style. Once her team gets used to her, then The Fever will be a force. They have great players, but just need to click better as a team. Like you said: The rest in the off season will help Clark significantly.

    The rest of the fever are pros, they waiting for Clark to catch up, she makes a lot of mistakes on the court, and she will continue to make them but get better. She was in the Final Four less than 45 days ago, she will adjust, but after the season, she will get some mental rest, get stronger and better, and the Fever will get an additional player of two and get better as a team. She is a very good long ranger shooter, she is not VERY good at nothing else, but she was never asked to do anything but score. She has great potential, but if you watching the game thinking the Fever need to adjust to Clark, slow down, allow her to learn and get better. the leader on that team is Boston, its natural for her, CC is a great shooter, give her time and she wilor can develop into a nice player.

    What separates a good player from a GREAT player is how they make the rest of the team better. Remember, their team is//was the worst in the league. Even Wheeler (who actively wasn’t passing to an open Clark) appears to be getting on board. CC with be helping get W’s.

    She’s the best shooter best passer and the quickest player in the WNBA and she’s got her teammates coming up to her level, in only 4 games. She is a mega superstar.. I feel sorry for the rest of the league when she gets cookin’. What makes her great is she does all this with zero cockiness. I’m definitely a CC super fan.

    A few thoughts: 1) can a player win ROY if there team has ZERO wins in a season? lol 2) I'd like to see Clark average about 30 shot attempts per game 3) Clark is interesting to try and figure out how she gets past people for lay ups... she's not very quick comparatively to other players. But She's actually one of the ONLY WNBA players with actual basketball SKILL. (not just for a female...just in general)
