They all have it my had the light but nothing wrong

Car still in 3rd gear at 140 still had more to give

I kinda miss my Eldorado..... '99, was still under 100K but electronics were going crazy. Was good for 142 or so. Needed bigger brakes tho, was interesting getting her slowed down after that! Scary thing is, my '19 Jeep Cherokee with the 2.0 Turbo is just as quick, and damn near as fast on the top end! Technology has made things more interesting

I mean. It’s a big comfy boat. Not made for neither acceleration or top speed. With that said, it’s the comfiest thing ive ever sat in. No different than being on the couch at home.

Nobody believed me when I said I did 140 in mine with the tune during lockdown

Appear that's the end of the line! Keep at full throttle for more than a mile after hit 143 and nothing happend.... so we are drag limited at 143.

@@CarHunterFast have you thought about changing the final drive or torque converter? Those are supposed to be the most noticeable 2 improvements on our dts might lower the top speed a bit maybe....but it shure would get there faster. If your dts is the performance model it already has the better final drive gearing of 3.48:1 or 3.73:1(i think 3.73:1) the base dts uses 3.11:1 if i remember correct

I feel like this car would be on par with a stock 2012 Chevy Impala. Those could reach 140 MPH quicker with the 3.6 V6 VVT than the Northstar V8 the car uses.

Nah man I have a 3.6 and lemme tell you, the northstar pails in comparison, the 3.6 has 300hp and a 6 speed, while the northstar has 275 and a 4 speed. The impala eats these things alive

Not true if I get the performance edition it can get there pretty quick also new cams 3inch exhaust and a tune ! And that impala had a problem

@@EbenezerSkroodge that's the thing though, I mean stock, not slightly modified.

That fourth gear must be mostly just for overdrive. It was accelerating really slow in 3rd. I like these cars a lot, but I expected it to have more acceleration on the top. Especially with the tuned PCM. When you top off a car you want to get it up there fast. You don't want to spend all that time going so fast accelerating so slowly. You're gonna be in dangerous speeds for a long time. Little disappointed. Still a really nice car

Yes! It is overdrive! The top end on flat is 145 in 3rd....

@@jonpolo2900 yes! I'm in my second tune now, and is much much beather then this previus one! It runs liner and gain torque all over the revband the power jump from 275 to 295, remmember this car has kn air filter, no cats and exhaust.

mid 20's most the time with the Northstar...... if they'd used different head bolts, might have been considered a great engine, rather than a flawed one! So much fun til they die tho!

How do you make it run that fast and what did it cost mine taps out at 112 nomore

I have a 06 DTS performance package and a Thorton Stage 3 60hp/top speed chip and my car still shuts off at 124 why does it do that?

@@danziggycole6592 some times de speed limiter not go off, you need tô com back to your performance shop and ask for him tô look the Remap and see what The parâmetros that not allow The car to go over 124.

So was the pcm retune worth it? I am considering it.

Remove the second's cats, Kn air filter and Retune pcm will give you at least 20-25 HP and no speed limiter@@rm25088

Either these cars hp ratings are overrated, or my Grand Marquis' and its 224 hp is underrated. Acceleration of this vs my Merc is about dead even and mine is a few hundred lbs. heaver.
