Mann I reallyyy want one of these right now. It’s really strange because I’ve always been into Euros and slammed ricers, but the other day I rode passenger in a DTS and was blown away by how smooth and powerful the car was. Also the interior was wayyy nicer than I had imagined. Like it’s a 2010 but significantly nicer than most 2020 and newer cars I’ve been in. Now a days everything “luxury” is really just a sports car with leather and wood trim, everything rides like it’s setup for the Nuremberg Ring

Yeah man I have been looking everywhere for a car that isn't rotted out. Looked at a 2008 chy 300 hemi, unfortunately the rockers were gone underneath. I was looking through facebook and found a 2008 DTS for sale a few towns over. I went and checked it out. Super clean, even the under side. Looks brand new under there. It has 95k miles. The seats are so damn nice and it drives so smooth. I am supposed to bring it home today.

Never seen a beautiful woman into Cadillacs as much as the creator of this channel. We need more women like her in the world honestly.

Thank you! I'm so happy with this build! There's very little else I'd consider doing to it beyond restoration at this point. This car is a joy to own. I still prefer the last body style of the DeVille because of the ride, but this car offers a lot more in terms of performance and feels a lot safer!

The head bolts tend to work their way out in the northstar engines, but this particular body style had the best bolts out of all the northstars, from what I understand. Cooling system also needs to be babysat. Expect to take it in for alignments and wheel balancing frequently. All that said, they're dope as hell

Great Build! Question any power loss or drone with this setup? Right now I have the same car with just a muffler delete for more sound, which sounds great but has quite a bit of drone, looking to maybe do this to keep the sound and limit drone but also was wondering if any changes in power?

No drone or power loss whatsoever in this car with this setup! I've been really happy with it. Sometimes i feel like it's not loud enough until i spend time on the highway in my other caddy which is louder and drones like a mf. This setup is fantastic

Do you still own your DTS? *Any major repairs during ownership? *Pros and Cons of owning a DTS? In the market for one myself, owned a 97' DeVille and 98' DeVille Concourse. Missing the Northstar Power!

Where did you buy them from and what’s the inlet size you need? This the the EXACT sound I’m looking to get on my DTS. I did a resonator delete and just wasn’t enough.

I think it's a 2.5 in inlet but not 100% sure. I had a shop here in vegas order them directly from Flowmaster and install them for me.

I’m thinking of doing this exact setup on a 05 Deville. Do you think it will sound the same with no drone? I’m trying to do some kinda setup that is about as loud as a muffler delete but no drone.

With that body style i don't think you can get away with no drone and still have it be as loud as a muffler delete. I have some videos of my 2002 DeVille which had thrush performance mufflers and a resonator delete. I would recommend trying Flowmaster super 44s but leave the resonator on to dampen the drone. Idk 100% if that will solve the drone problem, but my thrush pipes sound great, but going uphill it sound like a grizzly bear passing a kidney stone

How many different types of models are there for the DTS model? I've read (1SB, 1SC, 1SE, Base, Luxury, Luxury Collection, Luxury I, Luxury II, Luxury III, Performance and Premium Collection), but I didn't understand the differences between them...thank you

Hi! I wish I saw this sooner. I have a 2009 DTS and just had Flowmaster Deltaflow 50's put on. I told myself I wanted a more throaty sound but not too loud. Well it is quieter than I wanted, the gearhead in me wants more. I think I will delete the resonator as you've done, maybe I will get more sound out of it. Mine is Switchblade Silver as is yours. Love your license plate!

The resonator delete will likely make a significant difference. My 02 DeVille has a louder exhaust (Thrush exhaust) on it, but the drone is pretty bad, especially on hills. If your 50s sound smooth uphill, taking the resonator off might be enough to scratch that itch. Tbh, I never feel like this car is loud enough, so these videos help remind me that it sounds great as-is and I really ought to leave it alone 🤣

@@broombroom8529 Thanks for the reply. Yes uphill the exhaust is smooth at any RPMs. And I've talked to guys about taking the resonator off, I seem to get a 50/50 response. I'll drive it awhile before I make a commitment. I have two other hotrods, a '68 Olds Cutlass with a 455 and a rotisserie restored 66 Olds 442. They both have Flowmasters on it.

Muffler delete and resonator delete or Flowmaster or Magnaflow with resonator delete which one should i do and not too loud 🤔 someone help out

It depends on where you're driving and for how long. The flowmaster with the resonator delete is the easiest setup to live with (there's zero drone with that setup). Muffler delete and resonator delete will be really loud and probably sound super aggressive, but you will have a crazy amount of drone, so if you drive up hills or on highways a lot, your ears are gonna have a bad time

I have never had magnaflow mufflers on a northstar but the flowmasters sound the cleanest without being too loud. I have a set of thrush welded performance mufflers and a resonator delete on my other northstar and the drone sucks on hills and highways

The resonators do a good job dampening the noise even without the actual mufflers. I think the soundproofing inside the DTS is pretty good as well. I have never heard Borlas on a Northstar, but if you like it loud, take the resonators off. If you like it loud-ish, leave the resonator on

I don't think it'll be louder than a muffler delete but it'll be a reasonably loud, aggressive yet clean sound

Thats depends on if its the Bonneville gxp or grand prix gxp Bonneville had the 4.6 northstar and prix had 5.3 ls4
