[CabView] Sydney (Chullora) to Goulburn [4K] REALTIME

Here is a video I have been asked for, the Realtime version of this trip!
Today we travel from Chullora in the heart of Sydney to Goulburn via the SSFL.
This trip is in Realtime and unfortunately I did not bring my microphone on this day so there is quite a lot of wind noise.
Enjoy!

@@astapicI have a liking for these cabin videos of train travels. Thanks for the station by station descriptions which I think all should do. Can you tell me where the journey actually start. It’s a goods line, but where exactly.

Great video. Happy childhood memories visiting rellies on the down Riverina Express and the up Southern Highlands Express. The RE always pulled in to the island platform and people would rush off the train to the "Railway Refreshment Room". I seem to remember tracks on the far side of the island which no longer appear to be there. But always, freight waggons in the sidings! And a 6.00am start homeward bound on the SHE - occasionally hauled by 3801. Happy days!

Thanks for posting this video. I really enjoyed the video and scenery. I now know what a freight train driver's work day entails. Just one question about the procedures. Do you know how they allow one train to occupy the single track section at any one time?

There are several methods from a token between two points = a section or counting axles into and out of the section to electrical detection by insulating track sections

Thanks for a very enjoyable trip. I spent some of it listening to the live version of The Rainbow Goblins Story by Japanese guitarist, Masayoshi Takanaka. It made for a great combo.😁🎵🚂🚃🚃

Great video but may I suggest some captions , such as station names (saves having to pause to read name) and junction names. I had to check Google earth regarding the branch on upside of Marulan.

Hi, What was this train? I'm keen to know what it's hauling, that way I can get an idea of the performance. The loco with a 3 or 4 cars pass will perform almost like a DMU & climb hills very smartly. Typical pass, 5-7 cars a good deal slower. 1 loco on a 10 -15 car freight or 2 hauling double that (a typical fraight in they days of these locos), much slower again.

Imagine driving a goods train having to wait behind suburban and intercity trains sometimes as no one cares about how much stops and starts there are because there are no passengers

Can't block a pas service for a freight train lol Between Campbelltown and Goulburn is the worst for pas services, intermodal freight and coal/ wheaties. There's no room to run trains around, on either the up or down, and the track is main line into and out of both Sydney and inner harbour/ Wollongong. It's shit lol.

@@goingforaddsFew crossing loops like there are at Berowra , Hawkesbury River , the north coast line and north inland to Tamworth . There are some at Picton and Moss Vale however . I drove them 32 years ago . I preferred driving S and K sets like S122's Goninan Series one , 3009 shown as my avatar . The suburban trains climb much better than the 42's and 421's .
