Alas, I think the real problem is "what is cost effective" rather than "how to be more cost effective". Western society at large has no appreciation for craftsmanship any more, and this is reflected by the prices they're willing to pay. All of that aside, I completely agree on the superiority of the engineering shown here. Absolutely amazing machine!

It takes longer to set it up than it takes me to grind a cab of what ever shape I want.

I'd love to buy a machine like this . . . but about the time I'd save enough money, I'd buy more opal rough with it=3
