Hi Dave Guffey, But how do U push a chain under a log which is flat on the ground?
@daveguffey9024
6 жыл бұрын
Log Dog A long hook. Push the hook under the log, then put the end link in the hook and pull through. Summer time we use regular round chain but in the winter or in muddy conditions we will use a square linked chain.
@logdog8920
6 жыл бұрын
Dave Guffey, Usually we can push the cable chocker knob right through quite easily. Without carring along an extra tool, also it seems like cable would be lighter and cost less than chains. An 8 or 9 foot by 9/16 cable chocker is about 15 to 20$ each. We can run 6 chockers on a 640 JD. Have a good one.
@daveguffey9024
6 жыл бұрын
Log Dog We run 6 to 8 slides depends on how big of a machine you have. Nice thing about the chains are you can put a roll on the chain to make it spin away from a stump. Lot easier at the landing not having to unlock the cable. Guess it's ones own preference. Stay safe.
@logdog8920
6 жыл бұрын
Dave Guffey, U must be from the north east, Here in the Midwest/Great Lakes one will never see those chain/chockers. I would suppost the chains might take more of a pull to break. The cable will eventually fray, twist, and snap. To each their own, have a good one.
