🥣 Ingredients:
7oz | 200g cabbage
4oz | 120g | 1/2 cup cooked chickpeas
3 medium size potatoes
1 onion
2tbsp chickpea flour
1tsp curry powder
1/2tsp Korean chilli flakes
Salt to taste
🥣 Sauce ingredients:
4oz | 120g | 1/2 cup cooked chickpeas
1tsp lemon juice
3oz | 80ml | 1/3 cup oil
1tsp Dijon mustard
1tbsp nutritional yeast (optional)
salt and black pepper to taste
🧑‍🍳Cooking tips:
❗Feel free to add your favourite herbs and spices to the recipe to get your favourite flavour.
❗You can substitute Sweetheart cabbage (Pointed cabbage) for a regular cabbage.
❗ Korean chilli flakes (gochugaru) alternatives include crushed red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper.

    Made this for lunch, had to replace red cabbage for the green, red onion for the white and left over mashed potato for the shredded potato as that was all I had to hand. Still turned out delicious and the dressing was super. Thank you from Hungary.

    I made this yesterday and really enjoyed it. I used quite a waxy potato and would recommend using a medium heat for at least 10 mins to ensure proper cooking. I had the heat a little too high and it got quite brown on the first side but it was okay as it made it taste a bit like n onion bhaji 😋 Other points that may help someone else are: I used a food processor to finely chop the onion which gave the correct 'slightly creamed' consistency. I used 4 heaped tablespoons of chickpea flour as I was not convinced it would hold together in the pan (it did). I had to add double the lemon juice in the sauce to get it to the right consistency and it tasted really nice. The dish and sauce are also very tasty straight from the fridge with a bit of salad. Thank you very much for the recipe.

    I love the fact that I can cut back on meat consumption by using this recipe with the chickpeas, awesome source of protein which I end up craving! if I don’t get enough protein, I feel sluggish and start craving junk food, I even found a recipe on Pinterest called chickpea bites with chocolate chips in them, super good, and I can take them hiking to feed my muscles with all that awesome protein.! And maybe it will be played on this wonderful channel) 3-4 medium-sized potatoes (about 300 g) 1 onion 1 egg 1 Art. l. flour salt and pepper to taste 5th century l. sunflower oil for frying You can do without eggs - it will be a lean dish - you should leave a little more juice with starch in the potatoes, which will prevent the creams from falling apart. But still traditionally one egg is added. Peeled and washed potatoes are rubbed on a fine grater, flour, finely chopped onion, raw egg, garlic ground with salt and black pepper are added. Mix the mass well. The mass is placed with a spoon on a pan with well-heated sunflower oil and fried on both sides until the cream puffs get a light brown crust. Ready hot creams are placed on paper napkins to remove excess oil. Can be served with fried mushrooms or green onion sauce.

    It reminds me of Spanish recipe of their tortilla recipe wig potatos and eggs but of course this one doesn't have eggs and it's vegan which is a plus. But the process of preparation is very similar to Spanish. I will make this. Thank you 🤗

    Ive never seen this shaped cabbage, only the round. Seems like this shape gives more enjoyable leaves than the round which has lots of harder leaves.

    It'll taste different, but yes! It might be too sweet with sweet potato, but you could balance that out a bit by adding some acidity and umami (e.g. add a wedge of lime juice on the side and squirt it over before eating, or eat it with some sauerkraut or kimchi). If you're an adventurous cook avoiding nightshades (the potato family), you could try substituting it with turnip or parsnip or even cooked, mashed green plantain.

    I love all the ingredients. Just issues with keeping the entire thing together when cooking. I’ve been careful to measure weights, as directed on your video, but the amount of dry ingredients doesn’t bind the cabbage/onion/potato, despite squeezing out the excess moisture. Could be my pan….I’ll keep trying - the flavour is worth it! Thanks.

The nutritional info could be in the description so you can click if you want to know, but please don't destroy your videos with caloric information. I personally, as well as many other people who eat vegetarian/vegan diets, have had a very severe eating disorder, and your channel has become a healthy way for me to approach food, making it FUN and TASTY instead of filled with dread, guilt and shouldn'ts. Sweetheart cabbage also known as Cone, Pointed cabbage , hispi or sugarloaf cabbage is a type of cabbage with a tapering shape and large delicate leaves varying in colour from yellowish to blue-green.     I think they are saying better then meat because vegetarians have less options for protein which one gets from meat . Chickpeas are very powerpacked with protein and even Horses love to eat it and we can see their energy how they run . So why not have a dose of protein in a vegetarian option . 😅I hope it makes some sense .

    I think many can't afford meat with Biden & inflation, so a lot of people switch to alternatives plus it has less fat for some needing to drop a few pounds - I don't like curry so I'd leave that put.

    Soaking the chickpeas can make it very easy, rub them with your hands and that should make the skins peel ⭐️❤️ I hope this helps

    @@WeCookVegan I agree with most of that. Chickpeas are wonderful and I use them all of the time. They do not taste like meat, so it's hard to say they taste better, because it makes no sense. The comparison is like saying apples taste better than onions. They are just different. Both taste good, just different. You are not going to turn any carnivores vegan with this kind of title. You might even turn them away from trying the recipe. I think it looks delicious.
