This is incredible, thank you for sharing. I like to show people what winter is like on Cedar Lake, which is difficult these days with access to the inner road cut off later in the year due to snow.

I recognize all them places along the Beachburg sub. First coming out of Achray round the first curve with Grand lake on the left. Then pulling up to the east switch at Gordon. Mile 126. Then stopping for some reason ahead on around 130 or so just east of the power line. Then came the young cow moose running off the rite of way at the east switch at Brawny. Then the east switch at Lake Traverse. Wish you would of filmed more of the little stations along the way. Like Indian, Dahlia, Kathmore, Achray, Gordon, Brawny, Lake Traverse, Radiant, Odenback. I knew everyone of them. Really miss them days.

Thanks for identifying some of the spots! I figured that was Grand on the left, but wasn't sure about the rest of it. I'm one of the leaseholders on Cedar, on the long beach. Loved waving to the trains when I was a kid (right around the time of this video), and sometimes they would throw us some utensils or mugs! I grew up knowing a lot of engineers and section guys, especially Ronnie Junop.

Ya Ron just passed away a few years ago. Knew him well. I knew a lot of sectionmen up there and a lot of them have passed on. My father Kenny has been gone almost 23 yrs now. Was up to Achray 5 yrs ago and all that’s left is a strip of slag thru the bush where the rite of way was. Sad. Should of never went. Just ruined the memory of that beautiful place for me. Wish I would of had a GoPro strapped to the front of the motorcar when Dad would patrol the track on long weekends from Alice to Brent. I remember every inch of track from mile 96 to mile 164. Beautiful way to see Algonquin Park. Not many experienced what I saw.

I worked at Brent in the summer of 2014. In some ways, not much has changed; in others, everything has changed.

My father Kenny Bozak was a section foreman on the Beachburg sub for 31 yrs. I had a lot of rides on the motorcar with him and the boys from Alice to Brent. Caught some nice catch’s of speckled trout. Sure miss them days. If anyone out there has more videos like this of the Beachburg sub please put them on you tube. I would love to see them. So many good memories. They abolished it all in December of 1995. Stupidest thing CN ever did.
