Yeah, everybody thinks the sound is so important. I'll tell you what; you put real advanced twin turbos on it with practically no lag and I'll be glad to listen to what that sounds like and give up 500 rpms if needed

Firstly, I read the article about lightning laps, very enlightening! Thanks! Probably what would be a better measure is say the avg for 10 or 20 laps. Regarding the C8 Z06, Tadge gave us insight as what to expect. Acording to Tadge Juechter the Z06 w/ the ZO7 option, “Will hang with the C7 ZR1 for quickest lap of a session, but if you look at the average lap over a full tank of fuel, the C8 Z06 will be quicker.” He went on to say that the difference in Z06 lap times over a session is zero, even negative. Sometimes the fastest lap of the day was the last lap. I am 228 at MacMulkin. I have no idea when I will get mine!

Thanks for watching Sully! Wasn’t that article great? It came out at exactly the right time to remind me not to get too cocky in this video. I hear you with regard to Tadge’s comments, but they are pretty vague. What does “hang with” mean? Keep it within 1-2 seconds, keep the ZR-1 from pulling away? The C7 Z06 could do that. And what track are we talking about? I’ve “hung with” a 458 Italia for quite a while on track in my Stingray. It doesn’t mean the cars are comparable. I trust Tadge and take him at his word, but I’d also like to know exactly what he meant. GM has never publicly released those type of numbers from the Ring or anywhere else so I’m not surprised by the waiting. Though imperfect, I think LL might be as good of a measure as we are likely to get.

@@RecordsRebuilds I am on one the Corvette Forums and I find it interesting how much everyone is focused on lap times and yet the vast majority will never track their car, and many will not have the Z07, Cup 2R tires, CF wheels, or CCB. I always check out your videos because it is just honest discussion without the hype and clickbait.

The lap time for Monticello raceway is posted already, and the C8 Z06 is faster than a Porsche GT3 and Lamborghini Huracan STO. These are representations of what a professional driver would do because these Journalist train for test by doing massive amount of real world track time.

I believe the Porsche they used for that lap was a manual GT3 which is slower than the automatic pdk. All the roadandtrack channel showed for a gt3 was a gt3 manual. I still don't have my hopes up yet.

@@sonicloud7774 Travis Okulski from road and track set the times, and that dude is a longtime tester. The GT3 is over a second slower on that track, and it will magnify at VIR guaranteed. Lamborghinis Huracan STO is a SPECIAL PROJECT CAR built SPECIFICALLY for lap times, and the Z06 with Z07 package destroyed that car as well. That TECHNICALLY means a Z06 is FASTER than a TRIBUTO or 488 PISTA, and VERY likely faster than Porsches GT3RS ON MOST RACE COURSES including Nürburgring. Read and watch the reviews because apparently this is the real deal.

@@thiosemicarbizidebenzoylal2921 I already know that the C8 Z06 is an amazing car. I just wish the leaderboards at that track could tell us the exact cars they were using instead of a Porsche time with no video to back up what Porsche roadandtrack was using to get the time.

I’m also on Ciocca list … my mistake was not getting the custom vin for $5,000 that would of got ahead on list … Ciocca got about 38 allocations and I only moved up 2 spots on list …. Therefore 36 we’re behind me and moved ahead!

Yeah, I don’t know that it was really available to you if you were far back on the list though. I was 236. I called and asked them if there was anything I could do to possibly move up the list or get my car earlier (just to make sure my bases were covered). They said there was nothing I could do and they did not make me aware of the custom VIN thing. I know it feels like people “jumped the line” but Ciocca has assured us that is not the case and we don’t have any evidence to the contrary so I believe them. Just the fact that they have been honest and are still selling at MSRP makes me believe them.

i am 282 in the ciocca list!!!

I’m with you I am very patient and I will wait quietly for this amazing car. I love my 3LT stingray. It has plenty of power and looks. Z06 is slightly better lol…

I’m not a track guy per se, so the C8 Z06 sound is very important to me along with the engine itself. In fact, these would the 2 primary reasons why I would upgrade from a C8 Stingray to C8 Z06.

I should have done a better job explaining that I totally get that and understand completely. I think that’s how it should be for most people. I’m certainly an odd duck when it comes to this.

I'm still mainly interested in it's reliability! With all the delays, I'm not sure if something is being fine tuned still!? Thoughts 💭 -Shane

I feel very confident the car is 100% ready for mass production. There are always surprises, but none of the specific conspiracies surrounding this car have been proven accurate. I totally get where you are coming from, I’m tempted to think there could be a problem with the car too, but I chalk that up to a simple tendency to fear the worst. In the time since you posted this, MECF has released information stating that there will be new Z06 allocations in the second half of November (doh! Why didn’t I wait 12 more hours to post this video!) The future is bright, full steam ahead :)

I don't mind waiting a bit longer for my Z06, more time to save more money. Now that the configuration tool is up maybe you can make a video going over how you're going to spec your Z06.

I used to make guesses, but now nobody can tell until they start making them on a more regular basis. Give me a month or two, I’ll start guessing again.

You will never get the car People are walking into Ciocca and doing back room deals to be put on the VIP list and I am sure other dealers as well GM opened the door with this VIP list and they extended it so good luck cash talks bullshit walks

Own a C8 and not liking the Dyno chart on the Z06. Seems a bit sluggish on the street. Torque #s under 4000 rpms aren’t great. Typical DOHC high rpm engine . Plus I’m not sure it’s worth $45K over my 2021 Z51 2LT.

I hear you about not being sure it’s worth the 45k, but the only way you’ll spend much time below 4k rpm’s is if you are constantly using the upshift paddle to force it to be there. The DCT and better tires mean you’ll accelerate faster than the C7 Z06 for the brief amount of time you spend below 4k, then the computer won’t ever let it drop that low again. In the future, hybrid all wheel drive versions will make sure this becomes even more of a strength for the LT6 and LT7

@@RecordsRebuilds your # should be coming down. You ought to keep us posted with a count down. My # was 2289 back in July. December its 2140. I check it at the beginning of each month. I'm counting on 40+ percent to back out of buying it when their # actually comes up. Even then it seems a gamble that they will get to me before production ends.
